— Reports claim Israel covertly set up a military position deep in western Iraq before the conflict with Iran, allegedly with prior U.S. awareness.

According to the claims, the location was intended to support Israeli special operations units and emergency extraction teams in the event aircraft were brought down during missions over Iran.

Sources also allege Iraqi forces came close to uncovering the site earlier this year after noticing suspicious helicopter movements in the desert region. Israeli strikes were reportedly launched nearby to prevent Iraqi troops from approaching the area.

The outpost is said to have played a logistical role during the multi-week Israeli campaign targeting Iranian assets.
