Earlier today, IS fighters arrived in Gidan Lawal village, Kebbi State. Villagers had set fire to several businesses in protest against a gay man who had sexually assaulted a young boy.

The IS fighters forced the villagers to pay compensation for the destroyed properties, reportedly valued at 11 million Naira, for taking the laws into their own hands.

After the payment was made, the fighters pronounced judgment on the gay man and executed him in full view of the villagers.
