Several A-10C "Thundercat II" attack aircrafts are also present at Al Dhafra Air Base and will likely be used to confront IRGC Navy fast attack boats. In addition, this base is closest to the Strait of Hormuz and is the obvious best option geographically.

🇺🇸🇮🇷 — The other aircrafts supporting "Project Freedom" will be the ones on board the two U.S. Navy Nimitz-class aircraft carriers and one U.S. Marine Corps America-class amphibious assault ship present in the Arabian Sea, providing several dozens of additional fighters, all of the F-35B/C "Lightning II", F/A-18C "Hornet", and F/A-18E/F "Super Hornet" types.

There are also currently ~10 Arleigh-Burke class guided missile destroyers present to assist in the operation, however this will strain the ongoing blockade which has already been evaded by numerous Iranian ships.

Other bases will likely be used, but the vast majority will be handled by U.S. Navy assets and Al Dhafra Air Base.
