➡️ The Chinese state has hacked the Ministry of Defence, Sky News understands.

➡️ MPs will be told on Tuesday of a massive data breach involving the MoD, targeting service personnel.

➡️ The government will not name the country involved, but Sky News understands this to be China.

➡️ The Chinese state is to be accused of two or three attempts at hacking MoD employees - including personnel.

➡️ The cyberattack was on a payroll system with current service personnel, some officials and some veterans. It is largely names and bank details that have been exposed.

🇧🇷🇵🇸❌🇮🇱 — The Brazilian government issued a statement on its official website condemning the commencement of attacks by the Israeli armed forces in the city of Rafah, in southern Gaza Strip:

"By choosing, through this military action, to deliberately escalate the conflict in an area known to have a high concentration of the civilian population of Gaza at this time, the Israeli government once again shows disregard for the observance of basic principles of human rights and humanitarian law, despite appeals from the international community, including its closest allies. Such an operation may also compromise ongoing mediation and dialogue efforts.

Brazil reiterates to global governance bodies responsible for preserving peace and global security, particularly to the United Nations Security Council, the plea to overcome the indifference and immobility that have allowed the deepening of the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.

By urging all parties to immediately halt violence and engage in talks to facilitate a ceasefire and the release of hostages, Brazil reaffirms its commitment to a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, the only path capable of offering lasting peace to the peoples of Israel and Palestine, as well as to the Middle East region."
