Ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz fell to zero on Saturday for the first time since the war began on Feb. 28, according to Windward data, with no vessel AIS signals confirming any transit. The strait, which normally carries about one-fifth of global oil and gas, typically sees around 77 daily crossings. During the war’s second week, average crossings had already dropped sharply to 2.7 ships.
