NxRA (stands for Non-Energetic Reactive Armor) uses reactive polymers combined with gas generating chemical compounds to provide a highly energetic reaction that would destabilize the shaped charge jet, much less effective than ERA.the Armor destroys itself from the energetic reaction after a threat.

Merkava serie armor is designed to combat HEAT threats, due to the neutralization of real cannon threats, and now only battle insurgency. An APFSDS would cut clean through NxRA armor like this, which makes Merkava series armor significantly weaker than its counterpart MBT's.
The PG7VR's (Yassin 105mm) that AlQassam Brigades has built is not just a HEAT shell, but a double tandem charge, which is very much capable of going through the NxRA and SLERA armor that the merkava series have.

1- Saudi Arabia is trying to stop Russia from giving houthis advanced weapons by opposing the EU step of confiscating Russian assets.
