Statement issued by the Palestinian Resistance Factions:

The Palestinian Resistance Factions mourn the martyr Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Al-Astal "Abu Khalid," Director of Khan Yunis Investigations, who ascended in a cowardly and treacherous assassination crime carried out by the agent gangs affiliated with the mercenary agent Husam "Abu Safan," under the directions and decision of the zionist Shin Bet apparatus.

The crime of assassinating the martyr Officer Mahmoud Al-Astal comes within the framework of the zionist enemy's pursuit, through its tools and mercenaries, to spread chaos and lawlessness and attempt to sow discord among the various segments of society in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Resistance Factions confirm that the targeting of the mujahideen and resistance fighters of our people and the symbols of security and police work is a targeting of the entire Palestinian people, and it comes within the framework of zionist attempts and the agent gangs affiliated with the enemy to break the will of our people and their resistance, and to achieve what it failed to achieve during the criminal war.

We affirm our standing with all the strength we have been given alongside our brothers in the Ministry of Interior in Gaza and its security services, which constitute a shield and a fortress for the defense of our people, and we call on them to deal with full firmness with the agents, thieves, and armed gangs that wreak havoc and crime against the members of our people.

We call on all members of our people to take the highest levels of caution and high readiness, and to report any suspicious movements, vehicles, or behaviors that may contribute to uncovering agents and thwarting their criminal plans.
