➡️It also reveals Nasser's growing frustration with Arab rulers, particularly Baathist Iraq, which had launched a propaganda campaign accusing Nasser of betraying Arabs, along with Syria, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and South Yemen.

➡️The conversation was recorded on August 3, 1970, shortly after U.S. Secretary of State William Rogers proposed a second ceasefire plan between Egypt and Israel, aimed at ending the War of Attrition and initiating political negotiations, which Nasser accepted.

➡️When Gaddafi urged Nasser to continue fighting Israel and reject Rogers' proposal, Nasser responded — in the context of the Baathist media campaign accusing him of defeatism — by saying:

Whoever wants to fight, then fight [the Israelis] on his own.
We are for a peaceful, surrender-based, defeatist solution, and you can start the fight.
We will only talk about Sinai and will not neglect the Palestinian cause. You can get to work now.
