➡️According to an official released statement, JNIM fighters in the night of the 7th January 2025 stormed the city of Nioro, western Mali, and took control of 3 different military headquarters.

➡️JNIM also denies losing 30 of their fighters as the army alleged, but rather losing a single fighter during the assault and that the images of killed men being paraded in the city were of simple bystanders who got killed by the military.

➡️This corroborates with the fact that none of the total of 8-10 bodies discovered had the usual JNIM attire or held any weapons.

➡️The group did not elaborate on how much soldiers they killed, but claimed they destroyed 5 APCs and captured 2 motorcycles.
