The "Shaldag" Special Forces Unit rappelled down ropes from Helicopters in the operation, moreover, the IAF struck multiple targets in the vicinity, killing at least 14 individuals and injuring 43.
The Operation was titled; "Operation Deep Layer".

The Port of Eilat has faced significant operational challenges due to a naval blockade imposed by Yemen’s Houthi movement since November 2023. This blockade has led to a substantial decline in port activities, with reports indicating an 85% drop in operations and the port declaring bankruptcy in July 2024.
Yemeni sources claim that Turkey has been sending ships from its ports across the Mediterranean Sea, passing through the Suez Canal, and heading towards the port of Eilat.
