📢 The Geneva Learning Foundation (TGLF) is pleased to announce the new Certificate peer learning programme for gender in emergencies

This programme is for all humanitarian and health practitioners.

Do share with interested colleagues and partners.

In any crisis, a person’s gender can determine their chance of survival.

This is no accident.

It can result from a failure of response when aid is designed without understanding the different realities of women, girls, men, and boys.

This new programme is not about top-down lectures or learning a new method.

It’s a ‘learn-by-doing’ experience where your frontline experience is the textbook.

Many humanitarian programmes now use gender analysis, and continue to do so despite attacks on gender equity.

Gender analysis in humanitarian emergencies saves lives and is the result of years of advocacy and activism.

However, looking at gender alone can miss many important issues.

Instead of separate tools for gender, disability, ethnicity, we propose to explore how all these factors work together.

We believe this will help create solutions that work better for real people with complex identities and challenges.
