World Malaria Day 2024: We need new ways to support health workers lead change with local communities
https://redasadki.me/2024/04/25/world-malaria-day-2024-we-need-new-ways-to-learn-and-lead-change-with-local-communities/

On this World Malaria Day, the Geneva Learning Foundation stands with health workers on the frontlines of the battle against this disease. As climate change reshapes the malaria landscape, we need innovative approaches to support these critical actors in driving local action and building resilience.

That’s why locally-led action to end malaria is taking center stage at Teach to Reach 10, our platform connecting over 50,000 health workers worldwide to share knowledge, experiences, and solutions.

Read the article to discover how Teach to Reach can contribute to translating the global commitments of the Yaoundé Declaration into locally-led action by and for communities.

Frontline voices like Yapoulouce Bamba from Guinea are sounding the alarm on how environmental changes are fueling malaria’s spread - and how communities are fighting back.

Discover what health workers from malaria-endemic countries are observing about the impact of changing climate on malaria in their local communities in the new insights report “On the frontline of climate change and health”.

On this World Malaria Day, we invite you to join us in elevating frontline voices and forging new ways to learn and lead. Together, we can build a healthier, malaria-free future for all.

Join the CanWACH Healthy World Conference Telegram group for Friends of The Geneva Learning Foundation (TGLF) https://t.me/+QBiHV6wozgdkYWY0

The Geneva Learning Foundation (TGLF) is thrilled to announce our participation in two events taking place in Montréal, Quebec this week:

1. CanWaCH’s Global Health Impact Summit on May 13th 2024
2. The Healthy World Conference on May 14-15 2024

At the Global Health Impact Summit, TGLF will share lessons learned and ongoing challenges from our innovative Climate Change and Health Programme.

This initiative empowers frontline health workers in 68 countries to take local action to mitigate the health impacts of climate change in their communities.

Through peer learning and support to implement contextual solutions using local resources, we aim to catalyze a movement of climate-committed health leaders.

The Healthy World Conference provides an exciting opportunity to explore the interconnections between climate, health, and gender equality alongside global thought leaders.

We look forward to diving into urgent dialogues and uncovering new pathways to partnership to advance climate resilience and health equity worldwide.

We invite all those attending either event, or anyone interested in connecting around these vital issues, to join our dedicated Telegram group. Link in the comments.

Let’s continue the conversation, share insights, and identify opportunities for collaboration in the lead up to and following the events.

These convenings could not be more timely as we grapple with the unfolding climate crisis and its outsized impact on the health of women, girls and vulnerable communities. TGLF is honored to contribute to the collective wisdom and joint action emerging from Montréal. See you there!
