Subnautica 2 is now set to earn up to $250m for the studio founders. Which means, it will make the publisher Krafton lose devastating 35% of their annual turnover to pay out.
For the game to start making money for Krafton it has to sell over 12 million copies β before that they will only lose. Over 4 million are sold already, but it will be the most painful year for the naughty publisher.
Krafton have tried to fire the founders, steal the game, and go to court with the filing made by the CEO Changhan Kim via Chat GPT (since his own lawyers refused to commit a crime). The idiotic case inevitably failed, the game succeeded, and the founders will get their paychecks. Absolute Cinema!

There's an old joke about it: the wolf walks in the forest and several other animals run past it. He grabs one:
- What's the rush?
- The rabbit takes $1 and gives $2 for it!
- Sounds like a scam!
- Try for yourself!
He goes there, gives $20, gets $40. All real. So he grabs the rabbit the next day:
- What's the catch?!
- No catch, all fair
- So you lose money on it?!
- But can you imagine what a turnover my business has? All investors are mine, bro...

Meet Modern Warfare 4
So, North Korea? It didn't work for Homefront, but it was cool at times. And equally memorable in Crysis.

New Glenn rocket by Blue Origin went off at Cape Canaveral this night. The fireball was visible from miles away. And the best video is from local fishermen, of course.

Modern NVIDIA explained in one shot
- Video acceleration deprecated
- Color profiles deprecated
- Control panel is deprecated
- Every driver release is broken
- Even modern games get messed up
I'm on 581.80 and will most likely stay on it forever. I need my NVENC profiles and sRGB mode.

The funny one, but I have to add context: both of them are odd in a way,
- Gabe invested into AI and with known info it seems he's aiming for eternal digital life. In the meantime, his yachts are not just for swag, he finance marine research. He is super-social, gets along with almost everyone he meets, and therefor his aura seems much friendlier. He's still very much into making as much profit as possible, just wiser.
- Tim hates yachts and was AI-hater for some time. Then last summer he invested billions into AI (when it was too late to invest). He also owns huge sanctuaries, adores nature, and do hikes every week. He is not social, not a fan of crowded places. Every public speech he makes looks like he's in pain. But he wasted half of his fortune to fight Google and Apple (and won) to make them lower the market fee. But he lost against Steam and keep missing the point of it.

Stop Killing Games law is now going to be voted for in California. ESA (video game companies lobbying group) tried to put it down and failed. If the law will be applied (and it's getting traction among ones who will vote), all new games available in Californiaβ¦
After the initial approval, California State Assembly fully passed AB 1921 (a huge win for Stop Killing Games):
All new games available in California will have to either introduce a valid offline mode, provide a solution for user-hosted servers, or refund every single customer in case of closure.
It will be illegal to sell or monetize games 60 days before servers shutdown. And the warning about that should be announced clearly at least 60 days prior the closure.
Bill does not apply to free-to-play games, subscription-based titles, or existing offline single-player games. So, publishers are left with some options to phase out.

I'm trying to complete Deus Ex HR without kills and you know what? One of NPCs lies down dead (how?) and the wall-breaking skill is super-risky β about 1/3 of breakable walls have guards behind them and that's insta-kill.
