The guy ported Steam Audio to Lineage II. Sadly, not all sounds are positioned anyway but ones that are placed in 3D will have direction and proper reflectivity now. #Modding@GameDEV #MMO@GameDEV
Back in 2014 AMD and the small but passionate studio Xaviant (The Culling) created Battlemage. The game using Cryengine 3 and one of the first true spatial sound systems (named TrueAudio)

- First: there are simply not so many Battle mage games out there, so magic combat is cool

- Second: even now good spatial audio sounds insanely good and this one is indeed very impressive!

The system was also used in Theif but generally didn't get enough attention. But the studies they made helped to make later systems (Steam Audio included).

Can be a funky one to try on sale, don't expect too much though. Except the audio β€” it's still awesome.

Apparently, I'm a fool and the "cool audio" in the game comes from audio system + windows + their basic system, not TrueAudio.

That feature was limited to a very narrow Radeon chips with additional DSP (R9 260 - 295x2, + some Kaveri and Carrizo APUs).

The basic audio still has spatial sound, reverberation, audio materials, and more. It's just accelerated in a different way. And it's still one of the best audio implementations in any game.

Users noticed that several new laptops this year arrived with huge Copilot buttons. Since yes, no one uses this spectacular technology...

Bulgaria, where I live for over a decade, just won Eurovision. The contest isn't bothering me for ages but it's good to see such an achievement from our folks.

- Israel landed second
- UK is the last (LOL)

The song is absolutely not my kind of music. The last time I liked the sound of the contest was Lordi 😏

Capcom just announced they sold 59 million COPIES of their games during the last financial year...

That would be a huge number even for Tier-1 publishing house, but Capcom are much-much smaller (less than 4000 people in all subsidiaries vs ~20 000 at Ubisoft, for example).

A custom indie team got into 24 hours race on NΓΌrburgring. With slightly modified Renault / Dacha Logan.

It was not any fast, compared to other cars. But it finished the race, ended up not the last, and was extremely steady while turning.

Two moments became iconic: how racing cars lose the grip while following the Logan and the moment when much more powerful Mercedes wasted over a minute unable to bypass the tiny car.

Ollis Garage Racing barely made it to the event since they've had to modify the car but keep it under tons of regulations. Technically a group of friends fulfilled their lifetime dream.

Last year a YouTuber won his case against Google. They failed to prove he violated anything, despite initially claimed strong evidence on their side. Then they... ignored the court rule and still pretend it never happened.

In the meantime, Xbox is now officially XBOX (all caps). Which was decided from the internal poll.

Funny enough, I remember 14 years ago we've had to write XBOX and NVIDIA all caps and if we didn't, their reps pinged me and asked me to fix that shit.

Eventually Lichdom: Battlemage is Bioshock meets Serious Sam. It's about 10-20 hours, very linear, and has spell crafting (literally).

Can recommend!

Electric rockets are the most powerful, also necromancy and infected spores can do great. Use these three and in about 6 hours into the game it feels like absolute power even against the toughest enemies.
