A target farming solution that does not require cartographer's seals to come back.

The only change I want for Temple of Atzoatl: Double corruption gems for armor and skill gems are now tradable items

You can go whole league without ever getting a Corruption Chamber to Tier 3, so whats your only other option... scammers. Seriously the most nerve wrecking uncomfortable experience in POE is giving your Six linked Shavronne's Wrappings to someone who can just kick you, block you and they won't face any repercussions.

Elderslayer's Orb: The replacement for Cartographer's Seal

Instead of the overcomplicatedness of uncompleting specific connected Maps and entire tiers so that you can sustain a single Map, why not add an orb that increases the drop rate of a Map in a certain region, while reducing the drop rate of the rest of the Maps within that Region?

___

You would get 5 of these Elderslayer's Orbs--1 from each of the Elderslayers--as you defeat them for the first time. They would work similarly to the previous Elder Orb, in that they require an amount of currency (20 chisel/5 regret) to remove from the map they were placed on. Placing one on a map in the atlas would grant something like this:

___

40% increased drop chance for this Map from Maps in this Region

20% reduced drop chance for other Maps in this Region
___
The stats here are an example, and I think they should change based on Awakening Level.

The idea is that it creates sustain for a single Map while you're doing maps *within that region*, obviously including the one you're farming in.

While you're doing Maps outside of that Region, however, it will be difficult to find both the Map you're farming (as the Orb requires you to be in that Region to gain an increased drop chance) as well as Maps within the Region of that Map (as the reduced chance would apply globally).

___

Because you get 5 of them, it gives you an opportunity to farm up to 5 maps on the Atlas. Additionally, you can place multiple of these Orbs in a single Region. Placing all 5 of them within a single Region would disable all of the non-Orbed maps from dropping, at least in the context of the stats I've provided here, and outside of the Region, you wouldn't find any of the Maps in that Region at all. Probably not a good idea, though I'm sure someone around here wants to entirely disable a specific Region's maps from dropping.

___

I don't know. Just a wacky idea I had.

___

Edit: Allow the player to buy whatever the Orb required to remove it would be, from Zana, after you find the first Elderslayer's Orb.

Now that spellslinger is a thing: can we have CoMK also reserve mana?

Having to give up supports for cast on melee kill makes it basically useless. While i don't think that this would make it top tier it would at least be interesting. It would still only trigger on melee kill and not on attack but i think it would make it way better. Maybe with a slightly lower mana reservation (10%?) or lower(no?) cooldown to compensate for being harder to trigger?

GGG can you remake Cast on Melee Kill to work like Spellslinger?

Make daed gems great again. (Or maybe the first time?)

Absolutely insane.

I remember when GGG said players would never hit 1500 but they'd cap it at 3000 just to be sure.

Not Really Unpopular Opinion: There is always a map that is more efficient than other maps. Allowing players to target farm a map will force us to do the same.

And the game will become again run 1000x Gorge or Iceberg and you will get the maximum profit.

[Guide] 3.9 Atlas Shenanigans, including methods to get Influence monsters on 100% of your maps which might work in 3.10 even ways to use Private leagues!

**DISCLAIMER:** I'm posting this guide with a bit of an Agenda. Honestly my hope is that NONE of these strategies are efficient or even work in 3.10. This guide is obviously written with what is currently possible in 3.9. Anything written is subject to change or not work in 3.10.

Apologies for any grammar or English mistakes. I've very fluent in English, but it's still my second language. Apologies for the formatting, best I could do on Reddit. Last part of this disclaimer. I did not write this guide with newer players in mind. I'm hoping more experienced players or the game designers look at this.

**Who am I?** I'm just another POE player who plays this game way too much with thousands of hours in the game. Go by the name/nickname Fury, Furycrab, or sometimes Evildeathcrab my POE account name.

I've been debating making other guides that are actually useful to newer players, like maybe a trading one next. Appreciate feedback on if this is something you might want.

**TLDR version: Just a list of what I consider unintended Atlas Strategies. Read if you want to learn some tricks that may or may not get fixed in 3.10. Hoping they all get addressed. Yes I'm aware this thing is STUPIDLY long and I even spent time cutting parts out**

The order I put these perhaps unintended tricks isn't very important, but I've written about the ones I think to be the most damaging first.

**PERMANENT INFLUENCE**

How: You acquire your first 16 watchstones pretty much normally. Decide of 4 regions that you want your influence to stay for a very long time. Spawn the influence by running a map in that region with the appropriate amount of Watchstones. Once that is done the next 2 maps you can clear normally and they will be guaranteed to have influence.

Finally, once Kirac and Zana tell you to go after the Conqueror, just open the map, but **DON'T** kill the conqueror (you can clear the map if you need more map drops). The next map will guaranteed have the influence again. Rince and repeat unless you decide you want to start farming the conquerors.

*Pros:* You get influenced monsters on every single map. These monsters drop loot, currency, div cards, influenced gear, maps...

*Cons:* You can't kill Syrus, or the Conquerors, and if you are playing SSF, you are limited in what Awakener level you can reach.

**WATCHSTONE SHUFFLING**

This one might already be dead, but I'm going to mention it right away.

How: Your Atlas Awakening bonus on the map is calculated when you first make the map. The drops however are calculated a bit more dynamically checking your Atlas state as each map drops. You can add and remove watchstones into your Atlas to get the Awakener bonus, and then remove them while you are running the map in order to isolate specific map drops.

Pros: Get to run with Awakener Level 8 while still having a major impact on which region of maps are dropping.

Cons: It's incredibly click and micro intensive having to socket and unsocket stuff with each map.

**ATLAS SHAPING BY CULL**

How: This one is pretty old and pretty simple. Don't run maps you don't enjoy running. If playing trade, you can harness this even further by trading to get past any roadblocks. Just sit in Blood Aqueduct and farm a little currency to trade for the maps you really want. You can check what maps Zana is selling or use Horizon orbs, just make sure you skip any bad layouts, and plan a bit ahead as for how many maps you want to have drop in each region. You can combine this with the permanent influence trick. For the truly comitted, you can advance your atlas with as few as 10-20% of maps. You can also use this in order to guarantee a single map drops for a certain tier.

I could go into more specifics as to what can be done. However this one is a little trickier since GGG can easily shuffle the Atlas tiers like they've done in the past so exact strategies may vary.

Since I'm still posti
ng this as a guide. If you are not familiar with which maps are better than others, I HIGHLY suggest you look up any number of 3.7, 3.8 or 3.9 tier lists on map layouts. Google is your friend, a lot of those have been posted. Ideally, I would stop running newer maps the minute you have enough maps to get the better Zana mods, and also keep in mind maps you might need just for the purpose of upgrading your Pantheons.

Pros: You basically get to spam only the maps you want.

Cons: You lose out on Atlas Bonus for each map you don't complete. You also might run into situations where Zana offers a map with an Elder Guardian you don't want to complete. (This bonus however still does not offset the advantage of only having maps drop you want to run)

**Horizon Orbs.**

Takes a spreadsheet to explain why this is strange and potentially unintended, however basically some tiers of maps are significantly less populated than others. It's possible to get a lot of a very specific map using this strategy.

Pros: Certain maps may end up being targetable that were not.

Cons: There isn't really any downside to messing around with this. I just felt it was worth mentioning because Horizon orbs are actually sorta bad right now at getting you to explore new horizons within a certain tier.

**Unique Watchstones.**

You can use unique watchstones to fill in any watchstone towers that might not be full.

Pros: This can be combined with any of the previously discussed strategies in order to get Awakener Level 8. This is more significant however in Trade leagues.

Cons: None really. It's just something you can combine with any other trick in order to get more maps, along with things like Guardian maps or Synthesis maps.

**Using Private leagues for benefits that carry over to regular leagues**

How: If you enjoy playing SSF, you can use private leagues as a way of experimenting with the Atlas and not having it carry over to trade. You could even use it to acquire Syrus or Conqueror loot in SSF while still having an Atlas that can be used for all the things discussed above.

Pros: You can use Private leagues as a testing ground for things or even as a way of setting up different Atlases. You can play in your private league with all of the above strategies.

Cons: Can't really trade with this approach.

This one isn't a major issue, but it's a little bit of a strange way to P2W if you are really into SSF.

**FINAL WORDS**

That's all I got for now. If anyone else wants to come clean with any other sneaky unintended Atlas strategies. Feel free. Maybe we can help GGG get ahead of them so they can move on to giving us cool new tools to manipulate the Atlas. The first version I wrote of this, I included a lot of ideas on how GGG could potentially fix these things. However, ideas are cheap and I honestly don't know what's easier internally. All I will say is that I would like for all of these to NOT be strategies in 3.10, and I think they can all be fixed without resorting to bringing back Cartographers Seals.

Thank you. Maybe this helps players if they don't do anything before 3.10, but hopefully GGG Obsoletes my first Reddit guide and we can move on to discussing something else.

I know the manifesto just came out but I think we need to stress the importance of making atlas completion actually rewarding.

Completing the atlas is a grind and it's something we have to do every league. If the bonuses are rewarding then progressing through the atlas feels good and makes me want to play the league for longer. Last league was the first time I actually felt that I was being rewarded for completing atlas compared to doing some meta atlas manipulation strategy and it felt AMAZING. I know that maps have been used as a mechanism for gaining wealth in the past, but not having to worry about maps for a league felt really refreshing. I felt like I could do what I wanted and really scale everything how I wanted to, rather than being forced to do the most cost efficient thing all the time when it comes to maps. This whole "Well delve cities are worthless now" argument is bad and there should be a different solution to that.

League-end craft. Had just a couple of fossils (2x serrated, sanctified, bound and pristine) put into prime resonators. 1st try was absolute garbage and 2nd try gave me this. Thanks game, although I'd appreciate it more at the start of the league.
