🚨 FURY NEWS - INSTAGRAM DM ENCRYPTION UPDATE

Instagram has confirmed that end-to-end encrypted chats will no longer be supported after 8 May 2026.

This announcement was published on the official Help Centre of Meta Platforms.

📌 What is actually changing

Instagram previously introduced an optional “end-to-end encrypted chat” mode that allowed certain conversations to be protected so that only the two devices in the chat could read them.

Meta has now decided to discontinue this experimental feature.

After May 8, 2026:

- End-to-end encrypted chats will stop working
- Users will be asked to download their encrypted conversations before the deadline
- Messaging will continue through the standard Instagram DM system

📩 Will Instagram DMs still work?

Yes. Normal DMs are NOT being removed.

Instagram messages will continue to function normally through the standard messaging system.

The change only affects the optional encrypted chat feature, which was never widely used.
