FurryEST 2022 Announcement!

Hello all you fluffy critters! It's been been a shaky few years filled with uncertainty but we are BACK! FurryEst will indeed be happening this year from 7th to 10th of July on the already familiar (but now slightly larger) river barge house complex! (Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/AFKTpXUG7dhkag8u7 )

Now, just to be safe you will require at least a full Covid vaccination (two shots, booster(s) not required) to be able to attend. You will also need to be at least 18 years old by the first day of the con.
There will be plenty to enjoy! Open space and countryside, water bikes, canoes, volleyball field, sauna, grilling and a whole river where one could kick back, relax and enjoy some Estonian mid-summer, away from the smoke and dust of the city! The barge complex consists of a multitude of barges, two of which also house a total of 50 bed spots. The attendance costs 65 euros, which includes dinner, as well as some morning sandwich materials. For an extra 30 euros, you can also get a bed spot under the roof of one of the barges. Tenting or sleeping in a car will not require an extra charge. If you wish to support FurryEst further, then you can pay an extra 25 euros (or more) as a "sponsor" and get a corresponding lanyard- and con badge style, as well as priority in any queues.

A heads up announcement for upcoming FurryEST registration!

As has already been alluded to in the FurryEST chat, this year we will require payment for attending ahead of time!

For attendees that book a bed spot in one of the barge houses, the payment will be due two weeks from registration approval. This is to make sure nobody just squats on a bed spot :)

Otherwise, the deadline is 11th June. (After June 11th, it will not be possible to get a badge with a custom avatar any more).

The two main methods of payment are bank transfer (preferred) or PayPal... No credit/debit payment available, sorry. If You are unable to pay by bank transfer or PayPal, then contact either Clanga (@Clanga) or Renno (@raptorjesus42) to discuss whether we can figure something out.

FurryEST registrations open at 20:00 EEST! However, You should be able to sign in on furryest.org ahead of time! Signing in works based on a log-in link that gets sent to you by e-mail. Please be aware that this e-mail could potentially land in your spam folder! Once logged in, the registration form becomes available for You from 20:00 EEST.

It should be possible for attendees to upload a con badge image now!
The image has to be safe-for-work! This image will appear on your con badge along with your nickname and badge number, so find some good presentable art or a photo to represent your character, and send it our way through your registration page on furryest.org
The image will be presented in a square format on the badge, so if you want to be absolutely sure that the image appears on the con badge exactly like you would like it to, then upload a square image to begin with, in that case we assume that it is exactly the way it should appear on the badge.

Also please note that we will start approving the images a bit later today, so please don't expect an immediate approval of the image.

Since there is no shortage of bed spots on the barges, the attendance fee payment deadline for people who have booked a bed spot has been removed. People who have booked a bed spot but haven't payed yet, may do so until 11th of June, the same day as people who are tenting.

Please be aware that paying later than 11th of June may mean that you will not get a con badge with your avatar and name. In addition, paying after 26th of June is not possible. If we have not received your payment by 26th of June, then you will be marked as not attending.

Unfortunately, due to lower than anticipated interest in FurryEST this year (especially for sleeping spots in the barge houses) we have had to scrap the party barge.
Fret not however, for the dancing and heavy partying will simply take place on the ground, a short walk from the barges, instead! We hope the lack of a dedicated party barge does not sadden anyone or curb the excitement for FurryEST... which is now less than 7 weeks away!

A friendly reminder that the deadline for payment and badge upload is 11th of June. That is only 1 week from now!

Today is the final day for FurryEST 2022 registrations and payments! If you make a payment today, then please also let @Renno know of it, so that we know and wouldn't mark you as not attending. It should still be possible to upload badge images for some time, however be aware that badge image uploads may cease at any time after tomorrow.

FurryEst is quickly drawing near!
We hope that everyone is excited and looking forward to the con. We are aware that a fair number of you will be arriving by public transport to Rapla! As promised, FurryEst provides free transport from Rapla bus- and train station to the con on the 7th! And from the con back to Rapla bus- and train station on the morning of the 10th!

Please contact @Clanga and state what time you will be arriving at Rapla and requiring transport! That way we are able to more efficiently plan the transport, thanks!

(Not sure why they do not have specific times for 7th july already, but times are representative regardless)

In addition, please be aware that the con does not begin (and so the transport does not start) before around 13:00 on the 7th! And on the 10th, the transport back to rapla will happen between 10:00 and 12:00.
The venue will be available to us on the 7th starting from around 12:00, so arriving by car earlier than that at the con is not recommended.

Reminder to anyone arriving in Rapla and expecting transport to FurryEst!

Please contact @Clanga on telegram with your time of arrival and whether you are arriving by bus or train, to reserve a spot on transport to the con. If you do not contact before the convention day, then it is likely that you will have to wait in Rapla for a fair bit until transport is available for you!

If you know of anyone requiring transport from Rapla to FurryEst and suspect they are not paying attention to these announcements, then please let them know, thanks!

For anyone that has signed up for the canoe race: the race takes place on saturday at 14.00! Gathering point is the fire pit.

As a result of some attendees littering the sauna with cans and also pouring beers on the sauna rocks, any and all drinks are now banned inside the sauna. Drinks are still allowed on the hottub area given that you clean after yourself

The barge houses need to be roughly empty by around 12.00, so please keep that in mind. There is also some quick breakfast in the large barge.

Potential for transport starts from 10 and goes up about every 45 minutes until 12! Currently only the car leaving at 10 is near-fully booked

14th of April, 20.00 EEST (17:00 UTC) is when FurryEST registration opens! That's in 42 days!

As usual, bed spots (and their location) in the barges are served under the principle of "first come, first served". The number of bed spots in the barges is limited to 50 (30 in the large- and 20 in the small barge house). While the number of "tenting" spots is technically not limited, we may enforce a limit of 100 FurryEst attendees total this year.

In case you are unaware, this year FurryEST takes place from 13th July to 16th July, still at the same old Kabala barge house complex. This year will see an addition of the "Party Barge", as well as the return of the much anticipated HOT TUB!

Waves and Flames is the first ever thematic direction for FurryEST! Show your support for one of the elements by taking part in the various events during the convention. Healthy and fun competitions and even some prizes await the creatures most dedicated to proving their element is the best!

In case you have missed the previous announcements, FurryEST will run from 13th to 16th of July, and registration opens on 14th of April 20.00 EEST (17.00 UTC)!

Something that has been missing up until this point however... PRICING!
FurryEST standard ticket will cost 75€ and a sleeping spot in one of the barges will cost an extra 30€. The sponsorship upgrade costs 25€, but if you are feeling generous then any amount above that would be greatly appreciated, and lets us make the convention even better!

We would also like to reach out to all of you that would be willing to help with making this the best convention it could be! FurryEST is looking for volunteers! The most needed are people to take part in medicurity (medics and security), artists as well as event organizers. Contact @Clanga, @Sanqui or @raptorjesus42 if you would be willing to help out with any of those, or if you think you would make a good fit to the team.
