“First of all, women with minor children, pregnant women, as well as women whose relatives are participating in a special military operation are pardoned,” the decree states.

The statement emphasizes that the Russian leader was guided by the principle of humanity when making his decision.

In December 2023, during a meeting with the President of Russia, a member of the Human Rights Council, Eva Merkacheva, asked Putin to pardon women who committed non-violent crimes, who have minor children, as well as women who committed such crimes for the first time, in cases where there are no victims or they are not against their release. She emphasized that such a decision would help reunite families.

The majority (83%) of respondents answered that Putin is rather good at his job, while seven percent rate his work rather poorly, according to the survey results published on the foundation’s website.

The weekly survey " FOMnibus " was conducted on March 1-3, 2024 among 1.5 thousand respondents over the age of 18 from 104 urban and rural settlements in 53 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The survey method is an interview at the respondent’s place of residence. The statistical error does not exceed 3.6%.
