The FSB reported a 3.5 times increase in tourist flow to Russia

The number of trips to Russia, as noted, increased by 18.6% year-on-year, last year foreign citizens crossed the Russian border 15.4 million times. The leaders in entries were citizens of Kazakhstan, the number of trips increased by 26.7% to 2.4 million. Residents of Uzbekistan (+ 52%), Tajikistan (+ 36%) and Mongolia (+ 79%) also began to come more. The tourist flow from China has grown six times to 794,300 trips, but has not yet reached the pre-pandemic level.

Citizens of Estonia, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Italy began to visit Russia more often. The number of trips, according to the FSB, from Ireland, Croatia, Denmark, Hungary and Romania has decreased. In addition, tourist flow from Turkey, from the UAE and Turkmenistan grew eight and 9.5 times, respectively.

In Iraq, 16 people died in US attacks in the west of the country

Defense Minister Dong Jun of China reportedly declared that Beijing would "not change or abandon its established policy" in support of the Russian SMO this week - a full-throated endorsement presenting a shift from the Communist Party's prior attempts to remain neutral in the conflict.

"As 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Russia, the two militaries should implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, firmly respond to global challenges", the readout paraphrased Dong as saying, "constantly enhance strategic mutual trust, continuously expand practical cooperation, push the mil-to-mil relationship to a higher level, and play a greater role in deepening China-Russia comprehensive strategic coordination and maintaining global security and stability".

🇷🇺🇺🇸 Russia requests urgent meeting of UNSC after US strikes on Iraq, Syria, envoy says

"Russia has just called for an urgent UN Security Council meeting to discuss threats to international peace and security from the US strikes against Iraq and Syria," Russian Deputy Envoy to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said.

The meeting is expected to be held at 4 pm EST [21:00 GMT] on February 5, the envoy added.
