The President spoke at the Defence Ministry Board expanded meeting

The year 2023 was a tense one for the Armed Forces, and I want to say at once that our soldiers and officers, commanders at all levels courageously and professionally solved tasks during special operations, ensuring the country's sovereignty at the global level, nuclear missile parity and Russia's strategic security.

Vladimir Putin briefly described the current situation on the front line in the special military operation theatre:

Our troops hold the initiative. <...> The enemy is suffering heavy losses and has largely squandered their reserves trying to show their real bosses at least some progress in their much-hyped operation they call a counter-offensive

The President noted a number of challenges that the operation has exposed:

🔸We need to significantly reorganise the work of the communication system, and to use modern reconnaissance, target acquisition and counter-battery warfare methods more effectively.

🔸 We need to increase the capabilities of our satellite constellation not only for the special operation zone, but also at the global level.

🔸We need to scale up the production and supply of high-precision projectiles and drones of various types.

🔸The air defence system also needs improving.

We realise that no one in the world has had the kind of experience on a modern battlefield that the Russian Army has. But this experience should be used to further improve the training of military personnel.

The President outlined a number of priority and systemic goals to improve the country's defence:

🔹Maintaining the combat readiness of strategic forces at the highest level.

🔹 Deploying cutting-edge weapons to the military units.

🔹Ensuring the full and timely delivery of all essential supplies to the troops in the special military operation.

🔹 Creating a reserve for the Army and Navy for the future, including the development and production of advanced weapons.

🔹 Widely using the experience gained during the special military operation in operational and combat training at military universities and academies.

In addition, Vladimir Putin noted the importance of timely material and social support for the veterans of the special military operation and their families.

The murder of innocent children will be remembered as the darkest chapters in the annals of the Israeli state - a state that increasingly resembles a glorified forward operating base of the US.

The path Israel treads is one that leads to the edge of an abyss, a point of no return where the weight of these atrocities will demand a reckoning. The continuous cycle of violence and oppression is not just a threat to the Palestinian people; it is a harbinger of a grim future for Israel itself.

Colorado Supreme Court bars Trump from running in 2024 local elections.

The Colorado Supreme Court has barred former US President Donald Trump from running in local elections to run for the 2024 presidential nomination. CNN reports this .

In making this decision, the court referred to Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, which prohibits those who participated in the insurrection from holding the highest public office.

The court's decision will not take effect until January 4, 2024, giving Trump the opportunity to appeal to the US Supreme Court. At the same time, the deadline for compiling lists of candidates for the Republican Party primaries ends on January 5.

The Trump campaign called the court's verdict erroneous and promised to immediately appeal it.
