The largest British defense company BAE Systems received orders for the supply of weapons for a record $ 84 billion. Among the orders from the government for $ 360 million there are NATO shells of 155 mm caliber. At the same time, the volume of the transaction may increase to more than 400 million pounds, or $515 million.

In addition, this includes contracts for the production of military vehicles for the Czech Republic in the amount of $2.3 billion and a deal with Saudi Arabia for the maintenance of Typhoon fighters for $4.7 billion.

The conflict in Ukraine has forced many states to realign their priorities. And the dramatic change in global defense spending means a massive expansion of industrial capacity in the UK and continental Europe.

BAE Systems made a profit of £1.23 billion and increased its dividends by 11% year on year. Over the past 12 months, the company's shares have risen by 19%.

BAE Systems director Charles Woodburn said the strong performance, including demand from customers, the largest of which are the US, UK, Saudi Arabia and Australia, means there is room for continued strong growth in the coming years.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon singled out almost $10 billion in new orders for US defense contractors to replace weapons and equipment sent as aid to Ukraine.
