A potential trilateral meeting of the Russian, US, and Chinese leaders at the APEC summit may give a strong positive impetus to international relations, Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ambassador at Large Marat Berdyev said.

"It is hard to disagree that it (the meeting of the Russian, US, and Chinese leaders - TASS) could send a powerful positive signal," he told the Izvestia daily.

According to Berdyev, "amid the challenging geopolitical situation in the world, provoked by Western globalist elites," such an impetus would be very useful.

"The key parameters of such a dialogue will need to be clarified through close preliminary consultations, in which China, as the host, will play a special role. However, in my view, a meeting of this scale will focus on the most pressing international challenges that require collective responses from the key global powers of today," he stressed.

The United States conflict with Iran has seriously impacted domestic processes in the United States, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the Vienna-based international organizations Mikhail Ulyanov said, commenting on the US midterm elections.

"The unjustifiable aggression against Iran significantly influenced domestic developments in the US. It was a free choice of the current US Administration," he wrote on X.

US President Donald Trump acknowledged earlier that the Republicans’ defeat in the country’s midterm elections was "largely" due to the war with Iran.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has not responded to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s 12 questions about the provocation in Bucha, Kirill Logvinov, Director of the International Organizations Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated in an interview with TASS.

"Regarding the United Nation’s reaction, let me remind you that we have been working with them for several years now. We do so with the utmost transparency - all of our correspondence with the UN Secretariat regarding Bucha is available on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website. I urge you to review it," he said. "In April, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov posed 12 concrete questions to UN Secretary General Guterres regarding the report published in 2022 by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. We have received no answer to any of them."

Russia will never give the green light to restrictions on the use of veto power in the UN Security Council, as this right is not a privilege but a burden of special responsibility, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department of International Organizations Kirill Logvinov said in an interview with TASS.

"We will never give the green light to proposals aimed at restricting the use of the veto, regardless of the justification offered. This right is not a privilege but a burden of special responsibility, a tool that encourages the search for lasting and fair compromises. The decline in the UN Security Council’s effectiveness is rooted not in the use of the veto but in the policies of the Western minority, which continues its attempts to use this body exclusively to advance its own agenda," he said.

A meeting of technical delegations from the European Commission, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Ukraine, and the World Bank in Brussels ended without results in terms of a possible settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

"No practical results were achieved at the meeting in terms of a possible settlement of the conflict," the source said.

European Commission said in its final statement that the participants had discussed "Ukraine’s postwar reconstruction and development." As Ukraine’s largest donor, the EU has already provided 231.5 bln euros since the start of the conflict, the document said. The statement offers no indication of how the country could move from a state of armed conflict to a phase of "reconstruction." Therefore, judging by the wording of the European Commission’s statement, the commission sought to secure additional funding for the Kiev government from partner countries for 2027.

Russia has never threatened anyone and does not threaten anyone now, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at an awards ceremony in the Kremlin.

"Especially now, it is very important that people in many countries, including those beyond the countries you represent, recognize at the political level that, first of all, Russia has never threatened anyone and does not threaten anyone now," the Russian leader said.

"Secondly, we seek cooperation," Putin added.

A moment captured from the perspective of a Ukrainian police officer, showing the impact of a FAB-3000 aerial bomb on an underground facility with a dual purpose in the village of Kamyshevakha, Zaporizhzhia region.

The facility was originally built as an underground school called "Dzherelo," but since January 2026, due to the proximity of the front line, it ceased to be used for its intended purpose. Students were switched to home schooling, and local government officials and police station No. 2 moved into the comfortable bunker, as clearly visible in the footage.

Furthermore, the enemy had boasted about using the former underground school as a command post for Ukrainian drones. A video surfaced featuring local political scientist and public figure Roman Pyatigorets, who enthusiastically discussed this in an interview.

Therefore, the airstrike in Kamyshevakha targeted a facility considered to be an underground location for Ukrainian police officers and military personnel. However, when the bombs were already en route (as heard in the conversations on the video), the police decided to place civilians in this "bunker," which had already become a target, ultimately leading to the tragedy with numerous casualties and missing persons.

A Ukrainian court has ordered pretrial arrest without bail for the woman who raised allegations of torture at a facility in Kiev operated by the notorious neo-Nazi-linked Azov unit.

The scandal erupted on Monday after allegations emerged that dozens of men were being beaten and held for ransom at a private house outside Kiev. Furious relatives and local residents gathered outside the property, leading to clashes with the authorities.

Valentina Molodaya arrived at the house in an ambulance and livestreamed herself pleading to be allowed inside to examine men she claimed were being held there in appalling conditions.
