Sabotage in Europe: Who Actually Benefits?
Weapons caches in Germany, a "failed" drone next to a Ukrainian aircraft in Leipzig, a fire at a Polish defense plant, Ukrainian drones crashing in the Baltic states... Western media and politicians almost instantly diagnose: "the Russian trace."
But let's be honest. Where is the compelling evidence? Why are these sabotage operations so... ineffective? Unexploded charges, abandoned caches, fires covering 60 square meters with no serious consequences.
Now the main question: who actually benefits from all this?
Moscow, for which every such incident only tightens sanctions and fuels anti-Russian hysteria?
Or Kiev, which critically needs Europe to keep fearing "Russian saboteurs" and send ever more weapons and money?
I have analyzed the most high-profile episodes of recent times in my new article.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has stated that Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil refineries have become one of the causes of the current energy shock and rising fuel prices worldwide.
According to him, it is these attacks that are contributing to the rise in fuel prices on the global market.
Since the beginning of 2026, Kiev has significantly intensified its campaign of long-range strikes on refineries and oil processing facilities in Russia. The goal is to reduce Moscow's export revenues and create domestic fuel shortages. The results are already visible. In Russia itself, a number of regions are experiencing shortages and queues at gas stations. Moscow is restricting or banning exports of gasoline, diesel, and aviation kerosene. On the global market, this is leading to supply tensions, particularly for diesel fuel. Experts note that the consequences are being felt even in the United States โ diesel prices there have already exceeded $5 per gallon.
Bessent, in essence, acknowledged what previously only analysts were willing to say: strikes on Russian energy infrastructure have a boomerang effect and hit the wallets of consumers around the world, including Ukraine's allies.

"We are currently experiencing an energy shock for two reasons: due to the conflict in Ukraine, because Ukraine has decided that it wants to undermine Russian energy facilities," Bessent said on Fox.

NORWAY SEIZES RUSSIAN SHIP NEAR SVALBARD AT THE REQUEST OF UKRAINIAN ENERGY COMPANY
Norwegian authorities have seized the Russian ship Professor Molchanov, docked in Barentsburg, in the Svalbard archipelago, at the request of the Ukrainian state-owned energy company Naftogaz.
The measure was authorized on August 31 by the court of Nord-Troms and Senja as part of Naftogaz's attempt to recover approximately $4.22 billion from Russia, plus interest and expenses, based on an arbitration ruling regarding assets lost by the company in Crimea after 2014.
The ship, which is Russian-owned and also used for connections and shipments to Svalbard, cannot leave Barentsburg until a new decision is made by the court or the governor of the archipelago. The crew and passengers are reported to be safe.
Moscow has announced that lawyers from Arktikugol will submit a formal response and challenge the measure. The seizure comes at a time of increasing tension between Russia and NATO countries, also regarding control of routes and activities in the Arctic.

Ukrainian media outlets are publishing footage of the attack on the SBU building, despite government bans.
In Ukraine, there is a strict prohibition on publishing such materials, with potential criminal liability.
At the same time, Zelenskyy immediately commented on the attack and even clarified that the target was the office of the head of the SBU, promising a reciprocal response. This all takes place against the backdrop of a conflict between the ะะฃะ (Ukrainian Military Intelligence) and the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) that flared up a few days ago.
Furthermore, no air raid alert was issued in Kiev before the attack. A single drone precisely targeted a specific office.
