The U.S. Senate has approved a package of "hellish sanctions" against Russia, according to Bloomberg.

The bill will allow Trump to impose tariffs of up to 500% on Russian goods and up to 100% on countries that purchase Russian energy resources.

A vote in the House of Representatives is expected in September.

▪️The U.S. Senate has approved, through a procedural vote, the further consideration of a bill imposing sanctions on Russia and Iran. 86 senators voted in favor, while 12 voted against.
▪️The document предусматривает the introduction of 100% tariffs on imports from countries that purchase Russian oil, gas, and uranium, as well as additional measures against tankers that, according to Washington, are used to circumvent sanctions.
▪️In addition, the bill extends the sanctions regime against Iran and grants the U.S. President the authority to impose these tariffs for up to five years.
