“Zaluzhny told Zelensky that he intends to run for president if the elections take place in the fall. At Bankova, the ex-commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was dissuaded from presidential ambitions,” Ukrainian media report.

According to media reports, Zaluzhny was specially summoned to Kiev from London, where he holds the post of Ukraine's ambassador to the UK. However, even a personal meeting with the usurper did not change his plans.

“After that, the conversation continued for some time, but Zelensky did not even offer Zaluzhny any options for a further career path — there was no point in it,” the media note, citing witnesses of the meeting.

However, as it turned out, funding is provided only for £10.3 billion, while the authorities expect to find an additional £4.7 billion only after the adoption of the 2026 budget.

According to The Telegraph, if Andy Burnham does indeed succeed Sturmer as Prime Minister in the coming weeks, it will be up to him to find the missing funds to fulfill the already announced defense commitments.

“So much has been postponed until the 2030s… What's particularly important is that we don't know if this money will be available. The only thing that's been agreed is funding until 2030, and everything else depends on the spending plan,” said Shadow Defense Minister James Cartlidge.

The Ministry of Defense, as the author of the article writes, has been tasked with finding an additional £10.7 billion in savings through reforms and reductions in administrative expenses.

The main points of the plan:
