Politico: The EU has found a way to bypass the blocking of important decisions by Hungary, which systematically opposes increasing military aid to Ukraine.

As the publication writes, citing European diplomats, the method is for the text of the document, agreed upon by 26 of the 27 EU countries, to be attached to other resolutions that have been unanimously approved.

"Orban <…> was given many chances, but he rejected the outstretched hand. The security of Europe is too serious an issue to enter into negotiations with one person who sees things 180 degrees differently from everyone else," one of the sources noted.

The United States has agreed to make an exception for Hungary from American sanctions when paying for Russian gas supplies under contracts with Gazprom, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said.

"Yesterday we received information from Washington that our request for an exception to these sanctions has been granted," he said, stressing that thanks to this decision by the Donald Trump administration, "Hungary's energy supplies are reliably guaranteed."
