🇩🇪 Germany is trying to increase the size of its army

The Bundeswehr will create a territorial defense division . It will consist of six regiments of 1,000 people each (currently 4 with 400-800 people) stationed in Bavaria , Berlin , Hesse , Lower Saxony , Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and North Rhine-Westphalia . The core will be made up of reservists who will operate under the command of military personnel.

The division's main task will be to protect critical infrastructure and transport facilities. It is assumed that its regiments will organize the all-round defense of the country in the event of the transfer of the main forces of the Bundeswehr to the eastern NATO flag to repel an attack from 🇷🇺Russia and 🇧🇾Belarus.

In peacetime, the territorial defense division can be deployed to provide assistance in the event of accidents, terrorist attacks or pandemics.
