βΌοΈπΊπΈ πΊπ¦Biden furiously declared that Obama "screwed up" with Ukraine in 2014
βͺοΈAP writes about this, citing a new book by Washington Post editor Bob Woodward.
βͺοΈBiden said this at the end of 2023 in a conversation with his close friend, recalling Obamaβs (whose vice president he was) policy on Ukraine before Crimea and the war in Donbass.
βͺοΈ"They f----- up in 2014. Barack never took Putin seriously," Biden said, "furious."
βͺοΈHe said they "should not have just let Putin walk in there" in 2014 and that the US "did nothing."

πΊπΈ The Pentagon has awarded Anduril Industries a $250 million contract for the purchase of electronic warfare systems and the acquisition of Roadrunner interceptor drones .
Under the deal Anduril announced Tuesday, the Defense Department will buy 500 Roadrunner general-purpose rounds, as well as Pulsar's portable electronic warfare systems, which can be integrated with aircraft.
An Anduril spokesman declined to name the firm's Defense Department customer for security reasons, but the company said the contract will support multiple military services in "priority regions where U.S. forces face significant threats" from unmanned aerial vehicles. Deliveries will begin this year and continue through 2025.
The interceptor drone is almost 2 meters high with a wingspan of 1.5. It is launched vertically, the power plant is a jet engine, the UAV is equipped with a homing head and if it does not find its target, it can return back, as stated.

βΌοΈ πΊπ¦π΄ββ οΈZelensky to Face Public Anger Over Tax Hike, β New York Times
βͺοΈKiev has adopted the biggest tax hike since the war began, a politically unpopular move to raise funds for the grueling war.
βͺοΈβThe move is likely to hit hard in Ukraine, where people have already seen their economic well-being plummet because of the conflict,β the NYT writes.
βͺοΈThe law increases the military tax on personal income from 1.5% to 5%, retroactively doubles taxes on bank profits to 50% this year, and raises taxes on the profits of other financial institutions.
βͺοΈ"They will hate us, but we have no other choice. It's about our survival in this war," said Deputy Head of the Rada Economic Committee A. Movchan.
βͺοΈUkraine needs more and more money, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces are constantly losing ground in Donbass, and Kyivβs military and financial support is at risk of being reduced due to war fatigue in the West.
"Zelenskiy set off on a tour of EU capitals on Thursday to urge allies to step up support... But when he returns home, he may have to face the wrath of his population over tax increases - an unpopular measure, especially in a country whose economy has been ravaged by conflict."
