๐จON SCENE IN RAMENSKOYE, MOSCOW๐จ
I witnessed scenes reminiscent of The Blitz, though instead of bombing London, the Nazis are attacking Moscow.
Shocked onlookers watch the clean up crews remove the wreckage of bombed out apartments, targeted in the early hours of the morning to maximise the death and destruction of this callous and calculated terror attack.
As Hitler learned the hard way, as indeed did Bomber Harris, bombing the civilian population does not break them. It hardens their resolve.
Once more the peaceful population of Moscow have had a small taste of the ten years of torture inflicted on the people of Donbass by Kiev, as the Russian Army rapidly liberates more territory.

๐ฌ๐งThe deindustrialization of Britain goes on. The country may be left without steel industry.
Currently, the UK steel industry is facing a severe crisis. Unions warn that it is "a whisker away from collapse." Key issues contributing to this situation include escalating energy costs. The UK Steel report states that British steel producers pay nearly 50% more than manufacturers in the EU. This costs the industry an extra ยฃ37 million per year.
In 2024 and 2025, British steel companies will pay an average of ยฃ66 per megawatt hour for electricity, compared to ยฃ43 per MWh in France and ยฃ50 in Germany. This shows a gap in prices of up to ยฃ22 per megawatt.
According to industry lobby, the main factor behind this price difference is wholesale electricity costs, due to the country's reliance on gas for electricity production.
Global demand for steel has not recovered to pre-financial crisis levels, with many countries experiencing weak growth, particularly China. This has led to a slow market for steel and exacerbated the crisis in the UK.
UK steel production and demand have both dropped to historic lows in 2023, at 5.6 million tonnes and 7.6 million tonnes respectively, well below even pandemic levels from 2020. Production fell by 6%, while demand dropped by 14% in recent years.
In 2022, imports of iron and steel from China increased to 687,000 tonnes, compared to 303,000 tons in 2013. The industry has seen job cuts, and estimates suggest that up to 18,000 jobs may be at risk. Major companies like Tata Steel have announced large layoffs, raising concerns about the potential loss of even more jobs if the situation continues.
If current trends persist, the UK steel industry will not be able to withstand competition and the UK will lose its ability to produce steel which is very symbolic for the country where the industrial revolution has started.
