West bends sanctions rules when it suits them โ Kremlin
Dmitry Peskov noted that, "according to some parameters, companies in Europe and other regions can hardly maintain their competitiveness if they completely abandon our products"
"We understand the Westโs selective approach. We see that, according to some parameters, companies in Europe and other regions can hardly maintain their competitiveness if they completely abandon our products," the Kremlin official said, commenting on the Canadian government granting permission to use Russian titanium for Airbus.
According to Peskov, "in such cases, Westerners act at their discretion, without paying attention to conventions."

US tries to strong-arm China and Zelensky's bid to bring men home
Washington seeks to drive a wedge between Moscow and Beijing as top US diplomat Antony Blinken visits China; Kiev is trying to force men who fled Ukraine to return home and go to war; and the Israeli army stands ready for an operation in the city of Rafah. These stories topped Thursdayโs newspaper headlines across Russia.
As part of his current visit to China, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken plans to hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and meet with members of the business community. He may also be received by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Meanwhile, the US has openly said that it intends to air its grievances with Beijing, Vedomosti notes.

Moscow issues diplomatic warning to Washington
Russia could downgrade relations with the US if its assets are confiscated, the deputy foreign minister has warned.
The US and its allies have frozen around $300 billion in Russian central bank assets as part of Ukraine-related sanctions, most of which are being held in the EU.
Washington has long advocated for confiscating the funds, so that the money would then be handed over to Kiev for its war effort against Russia. The latest push came on Saturday, after the US House of Representatives approved a bill authorizing the confiscation of Russian money.
The so-called REPO Act, which lawmakers in Washington passed last weekend along with a $61 billion military aid package for Ukraine, authorized the US president to confiscate Russian funds held in American banks and hand them over to Kiev. More than $6 billion of the $300 billion in frozen Russian assets is sitting in US banks.

So long, Abrams: Ukraine sidelines US-made M1A1 tanks due to Russian drones
Ukraine has withdrawn US-provided Abrams M1A1 battle tanks from the front line because of attacks by Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the AP news agency quoted American military sources as saying.
The proliferation of Russian surveillance and hunter-killer drones on the battlefield means "there isnโt open ground that you can just drive across without fear of detection," one of the sources said.
The insiders added that "Russian drone warfare has made it too difficult" for the Abrams tanks "to operate without detection or coming under attack."
For now, the tanks "have been moved from the front lines, and the US will work with the Ukrainians to reset tactics," Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Christopher Grady told reporters.
Over the past two months, Russian forces have destroyed at least five Abrams tanks in the special military operation zone, thanks in part to the work of combat drones. Previously, the US had delivered a total of 31 such tanks to the Kiev regime.

Russia warns US, NATO against harming its security
Maria Zakharova stressed that "the level of nuclear risks have risen dramatically as a result of the Westโs destructive policy, which is fraught with a direct military confrontation between nuclear powers".
"Regrettably, the level of nuclear risks have risen dramatically as a result of the Westโs destructive policy, which is fraught with a direct military confrontation between nuclear powers," she said, adding that Russia never stops efforts to ensure nuclear deterrence.
"Apart from that, Russia regularly reviews its doctrines to assess their relevance to the current threats," Zakharova noted. "Thus, the reliability and effectiveness of nuclear deterrence in Russia are ensured at a proper level and should not be doubted."

Kremlin spokesman describes European Parliament as 'Russophobic machine'
Dmitry Peskov added that the EP "has turned into a machine brimming with internal contradictions that keeps generating boorish statements"
"The European Parliament has long taken the posture of strong, systematic Russophobia. And, of course, it sticks to this stance contrary to the main calling of legislators: to build a dialogue and to look for ways of building a dialogue. It has turned into a machine brimming with internal contradictions that keeps generating boorish statements," the Kremlin spokesman said.

US spies believe Putin didnโt order Navalnyโs death
The Russian president isnโt likely to have mandated the killing of the imprisoned opposition figure, the sources have told the outlet.
Navalny, who had been serving a lengthy prison sentence stemming from his violations of the terms of a previous fraud conviction and his โextremist activities,โ died at a penal colony in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region in northern Russia on February 16.
The Russian prison authorities insist that there was no foul play in the passing of the anti-corruption activist. They said that the 47-year-old suddenly fell ill after a walk and collapsed, and that efforts to resuscitate him were in vain. According to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), which Navalny used to head, the death certificate provided to his mother stated he had died of natural causes.

No conditions for talks with Kiev at this time
Dmitry Peskov stated that the position of Russian President Vladimir Putin "is well-known".
"So far, at this moment, there are no premises for talks because everybody knows full well Ukraineโs stance on rejecting any kind of negotiations. So the special military operation continues," the Kremlin official said.
That said, Peskov stated that the position of Russian President Vladimir Putin "is well-known." "The last time he mentioned it during a conversation with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko," he noted. He also reiterated that the "Russian stance is consistent," thus replying to a question as to whether the draft of the Istanbul agreement may serve as the foundation for talks with Kiev.
