The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic’s final report is out.
The report confirms everything we’ve been telling you for 5 years. Here’s the committee’s notes:
The Biden Administration repeatedly obstructed @COVIDSelect's investigations.
Dr. Fauci’s Senior Advisor — Dr. David Morens — violated multiple @NIH policies and likely lied to Congress.
Rather than prioritizing the protection of the most vulnerable populations, federal and state government policies forced millions of Americans to forgo crucial elements of a healthy, happy, and financially sound life.
Federal and state governments had significant lapses in coordination, lacked proper oversight functions, and were unprepared to oversee the allocation of COVID-19 relief funds.
Contrary to what was promised, the COVID-19 vaccine did not stop the spread or transmission of the virus.
Vaccine mandates trampled individual freedoms and harmed military readiness.
More than 160,000 businesses closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic — with 60% of those closures classified as permanent.
Children experienced historic learning loss, higher rates of psychological distress, and decreased physical well-being.
Unemployment rates surged to levels not seen since the Great Depression.
A lab-related incident involving dangerous gain-of-function research in China is the most likely origin of the COVID-19 pandemic.
EcoHealth Alliance Inc. used U.S. taxpayer dollars to facilitate gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China.

Domestic Politics:
-There’s a lot going on, but it deserves to be stated first that Trump has put Kash Patel forward, officially, to be the next FBI Director when he takes office.
-Despite the lying liars who lie a lot in the US media swearing up and down for months that Joe Biden wouldn’t pardon Hunter because he was “too principled,” he did exactly that this weekend.
--As a father, I can totally empathize with this on its face, but the details show something a little more nefarious.
--The pardon included any & all crimes that may have been committed as far back as 2014.
--As @Cernovich pointed out, the statute of limitations for most federal crimes is 5 years - so this is potentially hiding things that we don’t even know about yet.
--As someone who was put through my own (false, contrived) “trial by media” by members and outlets of the US media, it pleases me to see them with egg on their face, yet again.
--Bonus: in his pardon letter, Joe described the DOJ as being politically motivated and corrupt. This means that both sides of the aisle now are publicly stating that our DOJ has become a politically motivated entity that no longer cares about the “rule of law” over politics.
--Here’s a “supercut” from @tomselliot of many of the “very serious people in the media” talking about why Biden would never pardon Hunter:
x.com/tomselliott/st…
-Blinken & Biden just sent another $725mm to the UKR laundromat.
--Meanwhile, tax paying NC citizens are sleeping in tents in the bitter cold because FEMA can’t get their act together.
-Hamas is still holding Americans hostage in Gaza, and neither the Biden admin or Western press seems to care in the least.
--Conversely, Trump just pulled a Reagan doctrine. He put out a Truth Social post today telling those holding Americans that they have until January 20th to return our people or, in his words (and all caps), “there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East.”
--It has just come out that one of those American citizens, Omer Neutra was killed on October 7 but his body was dragged back to Gaza. The public thought he was a living hostage to this point.
--This is the reason that any “ceasefire” deal that wouldn’t provide proof of life for hostages failed; it is still unknown how many of those hostages are living. As they could provide bargaining leverage, it’s a significant “tell” that Hamas refuses to provide any.
-We’ve discussed previously the Navy SEAL gold star mom and Mesa County, CO elections clerk Tina Peters who was jailed for ostensibly doing her job and following federal elections laws to preserve records.
--Let’s be honest: she was really jailed for proving chicanery to the public.
--A new piece by @gatewaypundit outlines that there may be far more chicanery and nefariousness than we’d ever imagined.
--Did the people running InfoOps against and aiding the prosecution of Peters work for both Dominion and the state of Colorado at the same time, while they were running these operations? Is that even legal?
--Emails provided in the article seem to point in that direction, at the least.
thegatewaypundit.com/2024/12/bombsh…
-It became public knowledge late last week that JP Morgan Chase head Jamie Dimon has been quietly and privately advising Donald Trump on policy matters for months.
--Again, proof point of prior tea leaves read by @TFL1728 that we’ve discussed previously.

-Ellen Degeneres actually followed through on her pledge to egress the US if Trump won.
--She bailed to the UK - and has had to flee her new home due to flooding already.

-The Soros-funded Los Angeles DA that has seen crime absolutely skyrocket in LA under his tenure is now officially out of office.
--Funny enough, while the state of CA calls signature verifications raaaaaycis for POTUS elections, it was “signature verifications” that saved Gascon from his first recall attempt several years ago.
--Imagine that.

War/Military:
-The conflict in Syria has dramatically escalated, and there are a lot of exceptionally bad takes and propaganda being fed to the public, as is expected.
--Some of the NAFO folks are trying to present their (often very bad) UKR work and use the same (non-theatre appropriate) applications to this conflict.
--Trying to copy/paste one region rife with multi-generational conflict onto a totally different region with its own multi-generational conflicts is a fool's errand.
--The biggest development so far is that the (AQ and ISIS-aligned) HTS with the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) have taken the city of Aleppo and its airport.
--Syrian and RUS planes have been launching retaliatory strikes in both Aleppo and Idlib.
--Pro-Iranian militias are also involved, and these seem to be the focus of the US airstrikes and A-10 gun runs.
--The Turks are no fans of the Kurds, who are long time US allies. If you’ve never read the book Masters of Chaos, the Kurds in N. Iraq worked hand-in-hand with USSOF during OIF. It will be interesting to see if we go to help them after bailing on them previously.
--This conflict is evolving rapidly after a 5-year stalemate. If you want to know more of the details, here is an article about what we know so far:

--And a video from @TheDuranReal that goes into great detail of what we know:

-Over to UKR, some of the press & pundits were reporting that Zelensky offered a peace compromise, but weren’t telling the full story.
--Zelensky only offered the compromise on the condition that UKR become a NATO/EU member, which has been a non-starter for RUS since day 1.

-People have been dooming on Bitcoin for a very long time. Full disclosure, my first BTC purchases were when they were less than $20 each. I no longer hold those, unfortunately, but I’ve been tracking this space for quite some time.
--Many of the doomers came out when BTC started having price fluctuations around $100k, but some wise crypto traders are now putting the next target at $127k.
--Not personal investment advice, but…
--The signals that are being given look quite positive for BTC specifically and crypto overall:
--Tech & crypto bigwigs going very public against Liz Warren and other Big Gub attempts to destroy the crypto industry and founders.
--JD Vance is the first VP to have a crypto portfolio - he gets it
--Many wise macro brains see crypto - BTC & stablecoins specifically - as a potential solution to help monetize and fix the US debt doom loop
-As of the Monday market close, the S&P 500 closed green, the Dow 30 was in the red all day (including the close), NASDAQ ended in the green, and while gold went into the close in the green it had a strange high-volume fluctuation at 345pm EST.
-USDJPY is still in the “danger zone” at $149.56 as of the time of this writing.
-The ICE BofAML MOVE index is still edging lower, now down to $97.81 as of the time of this writing.

This is pretty cool. Musician, entrepreneur, and crypto investor Jon-Collins Black has hidden $2mm worth of artifacts and treasures across the USA. He has published a book that offers clues as to where they are, creating a sort of real-world and modern-day treasure hunt.

Macro takeaways/lessons for the week:
-Biden keeps giving scoring assists to Trump, and his latest citing of a “highly politicized DOJ” in his pardon letter for Hunter is just the latest. Complain about the pardon if you want, but it’s still points on the scoreboard.
-Kash tapped to head the FBI, in language (and with outside support) that makes it seem like a foregone conclusion, not a confirmation fight to be expected. Again, points on the scoreboard.
-EV manufacturers closing down or moving back to combustion engine focus, JPM pushing back on “transition finance,” and critical EV inputs being allocated elsewhere. I sure hope you didn’t go “all-in” on ESG investing.
Implications:
These posts are meant to cover far more than politics, but as personnel is policy and US policy dictates many facets of life globally, I’d like to reiterate just a few Trump personnel picks that are highly indicative of much needed change for the USGOV (and thereby, the world):
-Elon, Vivek, and Dr. Ron Paul at DOGE to find & cut the waste
-JD Vance, crypto investor and former VC, as VP
Kash Patel at FBI
-Former ground pounder Pete Hegseth at DoD
-Tom Homan (proven know-how and intestinal fortitude) as Border Czar
-Tulsi at ODNI (Intel coordinator)
Nobody is perfect, and there are still appointments to be made. For the high-level and broad strokes, however, these alone show that 2024 is wholly different from 2016 in terms of personnel, and some of the most pressing issues for our nation (and the world) seem to be at the forefront given the names and “outsiders” being tapped.
As the wise man once said, “We shall see.”
I am quite hopeful given this list, however.
The Weekly Read (Monday):
The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power by Daniel Yergin
amazon.com/Prize-Epic-Que…
I’ve recommended this book in other long-form posts and podcasts (Iran’s Proxy Wars and the Great Power Competition in the Middle East), but not here. As discussed in that post & podcast, this book is one that a college buddy told me to read, as it is required reading at the oil & gas company that he’s a lawyer for.
It’s as good of a time as any for you to read it now, if you haven’t previously. The issues in Iran, across much of Europe and parts of Asia, Africa, and many others can be traced back to the “Texas tea.” Sometimes that is directly, and sometimes indirectly.
If you’ve followed the @MikeBenzCyber talks that I’ve shared previously, you know that oil and statecraft often go hand-in-hand. Western Europe and the EU are in dire straits right now as the German economy implodes due to catastrophically stupid decisions that cut off their cheap access to oil.
The Biden administration was taking serious steps to cut off our own domestic oil supply, even while purchasing it from adversaries like Venezuela and Iran (no, that was not a conspiracy theory).

It’s not a great leap to expect that Harris would have followed the same pursuit, given her uber-progressive voting and ideological record.
To understand the history of how the discovery and utilization of “black gold” has transformed the global economy and run statecraft (and its corresponding tradecraft) this book is a must read.
I believe that an understanding of this history and principle will be necessary to truly understand what happens over the next 4-10 years.
