Emanations of the Cross Throughout History
The wailing and gnashing of teeth over Pete Hegseth’s Jerusalem Cross tattoo showed massive historical ignorance of the Cross and its many forms over mankind’s history. Let’s rectify that.

Topics covered in this post
-Introduction: Ignorance, rewriting, obfuscation, and destruction of history, both religious and secular
-Neolithic to Pre-Christian: Crosses Across Ancient History (10,000 BC - 3,000 BC)
-Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and Sumerian Cultures (3,000 BC - 1,000 BC)
-Indus Valley, Bronze Age Europe, and Early Asian Traditions (c. 2,500 BC – 1,500 BC)
-Pre-Christian Mediterranean (circa 1000 BC–1st Century AD)
-Christianity (1st Century AD onward)

The Shitshow Macro Weekly Prep Podcast for Monday March 3, 2025 is out:

-The post and podcast for Emanations of the Cross were both published as free for all to read, listen to, and share over the weekend.
–It explains not only the history of the Cross in the Christian Faith, but also the many different forms and their symbolism (showing what frauds those who tried to turn Hegseth’s Jerusalem Cross are), and the history of cross shapes as the oldest archetype in mankind’s history.

-The post and podcast for Statecraft 101: What It Is, What It Was, What It Became, and How the Trump Doctrine Is Changing (Fixing) It were both made free for all to read, listen, and share as well.

Domestic Politics:
-The Carolinas had fires this weekend that covered approximately 400 acres.
--According to @matt_vonswol Blackhawks dropped water on the affected areas, and everyone is already back in their homes.

-Chalk another one up for the “conspiracy theorists.”
--A Sen. Grassley release states that the Gov of Argentina will release info about the Swiss Banks that helped Nazis escape to Argentina with their money:
judiciary.senate.gov/press/rep/rele

-The State Department completed its review of foreign USAID funding, and opted to shut down $60 billion worth of outflows.
--Before taking any polling seriously, ensure they provide their basic info: sample size, MOE, DOC, Z-score, and/or other crucial metrics that can tell you if it's propaganda or legit.
--@Rasmussen_poll provides their data, but the MSM and DC hate them because they ask uncomfortable questions that others won’t, and get answers that DC and the MSM don’t want you to know about.
--Case in point: their poll that shows 70% of Americans are angry about the wastes of taxpayer money that DOGE has uncovered/is uncovering:
rasmussenreports.com/public_content

--And other from Rasmussen: 77% of Americans are in favor of Voter ID:

-Treasury Secretary Bessent was on Face the Nation Sunday and, among other things, called out the media (and its “expert economists”) for lying about the economy under Biden:
x.com/FinanceLancelo

-Illegal US border crossings have now plummeted to the lowest numbers in recorded history.
It was always a choice, and they were always lying about it under Biden/Harris/Mayorkas.

-Elon Musk was on Joe Rogan’s podcast again. The whole interview is worth watching, IMO, but this clip is one of several eye-opening stats given: DOGE found 20mm dead people receiving Social Security at an average of $20k/year. That’s a $400 billion annual scam.

War/Military:
-A few more wrinkles have emerged since Z was asked to leave the White House last week.
--He went to the EU where they publicly pledged support - but reports stated that he was privately told he needed to make good with Trump.
--He put out statements that he would be willing to sign the mineral deal - but within an hour or so reneged and said that it would require other attributes.
--It looks like he may have already previously signed a deal for the minerals in question with UK/FR - promising the same thing to multiple parties?
--Polish PM Tusk re-iterated publicly that Poland will not send troops to UKR.

-On that note, Morgan Stanley released a report on the actual rare earth (probably not really) minerals that are at the heart of this potential deal.
--TL;DR: many of the commodity pros don’t think he has the cards that he’s saying he does.

-Defense Secretary Hegesth posted an article this week that I, as a guy from a family with multiple Navy veterans (but I still totally make fun of the Navy at every chance) think is a must read for all.
--The title is pretty self-explanatory: America’s Future Depends on Rebuilding the Navy.
--Also: more Admirals than ships. That needs to change.

-While the anti-Trump neocons and “very serious people” will pretend like firing USMIL generals is a capital offense and has never been done before - it has, especially in precarious times.
--An account that I recently started following outlined how it has been done in the past, and how it could be done now, via a thread that @infantrydort called How to Remove the Generals: A 2025 “Louisiana Maneuvers:”

Science/Health:
-The confirmation hearing for Dr Jay Bhattacharya for NIH director is finally set to take place on Wed.

-A 5-year study has concluded that lowering cholesterol increases the risk of death.
--Cholesterols are vital for many aspects of your body to function properly, especially your brain. This is known.

Markets/economics:
-The Trump administration is making significant changes to the economic paradigm that go unnoticed and misunderstood by many because they don’t understand (and often won’t believe) just how ridiculous some of the US policies were.
--The rebalancing won’t be immediate, but tariffs are only one of many tools being implemented. China has enjoyed some tax-free investments in the US since 1984 - which Trump is changing, leading them to withdraw some of their investments, sucking liquidity out of markets (which is necessary to reduce inflation and ludicrous P/E ratios).
--The Executive Order is also preventing US investments that strengthen China’s military apparatus, which the “status quo” has allowed for quite some time:
--From @michalejmcnair :

-Trump posted comments this weekend about a US strategic crypto reserve, naming BTC and ETH specifically, and prices spiked. BTC saw a $10K price surge, now back to $93,009.61, with ETH at $2,452.60

-Commerce Secretary Lutknik made a comment this weekend on Sunday Morning Futures that he may separate USGOV spending out of the calculation for GDP.
--The way GDP is calculated and what it does/does not include has been a subject of debate for many years.
--Since the GOV itself doesn’t create anything of real, tangible value, this *could* be yet another sign of changes to put more value on the private sector, manufacturing, and real things vs the financialization economy that has been a product of the past several decades of policy.
finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-adm

-Futures for the major US stock indexes are mixed as of this writing Sunday night; Russell 2000 is the only one that has stayed in the green, while the rest are moving between green (up) and red (down).

-Crude oil is back above the crucial $70 mark, now at $70.49

-Gold is at $2,884

-Inflation in Japan is getting out of control, and their 30-year government bond yield has hit 2.635%.

-60+ day auto loan delinquencies in the subprime category have hit 6.56%, the highest recorded, according to @MacroEdgeRes

-Auto-loan “serious delinquencies” (90+ days) hit 3% in Q4 2024, the highest in 14 years (via @unusual_whales )

Business:
-The Treasury Department announced today (Sunday) that they would not enforce any fines or penalties associated with the beneficial ownership reporting requirements.

-Saks Global will slash about 5% of its global workforce after purchasing Neiman Marcus, according to Macro Edge Research.

Geopolitics:
-German CDU leader (potentially next chancellor) Merz put out statements against Trump, for the war, and the potential of Europe moving to its own defense structure:
armstrongeconomics.com/international-

-There were significant protests in Romania this weekend, with the populace calling for the second round of elections to be held (they had the first months ago). You know, democracy.

-France’s credit rating was downgraded to negative by S&P Global Ratings.
--Understand this dynamic, and you will understand why the EU nations are in such need for the UKR war to continue (but you also have to come to terms with the uncomfortable truth about why most state actors want war).

Conspiracy-y:
If you read the previous Shitshow Macro long-form post or listened to the podcast for Our Radically Changing Understanding of the Human Dynamic and Timeline, you know that they are finding things in places that nobody ever expected to find them (ziggurats hidden under the ice and in jungles, among other things).

Quite a few unexpected discoveries have recently been made in Central and South America, finding intricate and large outlines of ancient cities and structures via LIDAR. @PalestraSociety has announced via the X platform that they have partnered with the Ministry of Culture of El Salvador to begin using LIDAR to search for more ancient ruins there:

White Pill:
The IRS is reportedly closing 120 out of its 600 locations. For the Libertarian part of me, that’s the whitest of white pills. Taxation is theft, as my MicroEcon prof used to start every class by stating (and which DOGE & Data Republican have been proving categorically).

Macro takeaways/lessons for the week:
-As I’ve been saying, apokalypsis has to include more than just fraud, waste, abuse, and corruption. Grassley’s announcement has many layers to it, if you’ve been of the “noticing” type for any amount of time. Blonde latinas in Argentina & South America didn’t appear out of nowhere. Now about those missing Nazi submarines…

-Z showed his ass in the White House, the lines were drawn globally for/against, and the EU decided to “stick it to Trump” by doing exactly what he’s been asking for since 2016: paying for their own defense. Please read Statecraft 101 if this seems like a new thing to you.

-The lying liars who lie a lot are already trying to use the fraudulent Biden economy numbers (that they covered up) to say that Trump is hurting the economy - even though it’s still the first 40 days. Point and laugh at these people.

Implications:
If you understand how money works - how it really works, globally - you understand why it was a crucial first vector of attack for the new Trump administration. I find it interesting that the first 30 days focused on the domestic fraud, waste, and abuse so much, and now the release from Grassley + State Department review completion shutting down $60bn of USAID funding shows they may be “expanding the scope.”

The Romania protests didn’t have any counter protestors with EU or UKR flags; the domestic protests seem to be filled with low-energy boomers and none of the Black Blok or RevCom radicals that we saw so much of in the first administration.

And, what a surprise, The Patriot Front disbanded when Christopher Wray stepped down at FBI.

We should all pay attention to what continues to “shut off” as the US taxpayer money spigots are.

The Weekly Read (Monday):
If you’ve not read the latest post on Shitshow Macro, Emanations of the Cross, I am going to again suggest that you do. If you’re not Christian, it’s a great history lesson into the oldest archetypal symbol of humanity, one that goes back to prehistory and was used by many different cultures to represent different things.

If you are a Christian, it explains the many different Emanations of the Cross for our Faith, and that each of the many versions of the Christian Cross symbolises something different.
This can help you to see just what bad-faith actors the people who tried to claim that Hegseth’s Jerusalem Cross tattoo was something nefarious truly are, and why you should never allow them to form an outrage mob over something so easily verified or denied.

War is rarely (never) really about what state actors & their propaganda tell you it's about.

Europe is broke, their military forces are nil, and they have imploding economies with no collateral - so they need the resources in UKR, with USMIL protection.
