A couple of years ago I was at the library working on homework with my kiddos. They were "having a day" and both were being more than a little difficult.
New math that both needed help with, and they both wanted dad's attention constantly.
Another dad had been a few tables away from us but watched me doing my best to manage the shitshow with all of the patience that I could.
He got up to leave before us, but stopped by our table to drop his observation.
"You're doing a great job with them."
