FDR closed banks that weren't controlled by the Fed for 3 years (over 9,000 of them), yet kept debt actionable that was owed by those who had all of their cash taken in the bank closures.

He then confiscated all gold held by private citizens, and created the Great Depression - yet his policies are taught as what "ended" the great depression.
