Very long article, but required reading for those who want to know where we currently stand in the oligarchy vs US people:

A Guide to Understanding the Hoax of the Century
Thirteen ways of looking at disinformation
Are we currently living through an Ayn Rand novel? I'm currently reading The Fountainhead so this is very fresh on my mind, but consider this:
The Fountainhead tells the story of those who find solace in their work (told through the lens of architects). Those of us who don't care about what others think, and are able to stay steadfast in our morals & beliefs no matter what trials & tribulations are set against us by the easily swayed masses and "intellectual class" that is full of unacomplished midwits who feign elitism by bestowing pointless awards among each other.
Atlas Shrugged is about a group of Prime Movers, people who are bound to be successful, despite frequent setbacks & troubles, because they are masters of their craft who know nothing but the need to continue moving forward.
Atlas Shrugged ends with these Prime Movers checking out, building their own, private, parallel society and letting the bureaucrat, intellectual, and communist class destroy the shoddy world that they've built by forcing it away from meritocracy.
Now think about where we are, right now, with "the adults in charge:"
A man was put in charge of national transportation, despite his only redeeming quality being that he is gay. As he gets caught staging hoax photo ops to pretend that he bikes to work (in order to push the climate warrior facade), the nation is seeing both air and rail transportation chaos the likes of which we've never seen.
There is a woman in the VP spot, only chosen because she is a woman of color. It doesn't matter that she lied about what color that is, exactly, that her family owned slaves, or that she made a career locking up black men at an unprecedented rate.
She says the right words, and for communists words > actions
She is in charge of the border, which is an open sieve because she's a babbling idiot who wants it to be an open sieve.
Our entire political class is full of people, on both sides, who seem to believe that their sole job is to preen for the cameras & get catchy "gotcha" soundbites for social media.
Our journalist class is probably the least trusted profession in the nation at the moment, yet they continue right on doing what made them despised because they never hear, see, or really care about anyone outside of their bubbles.
As with both Ayn Rand books mentioned above, we've allowed a certain class of people set the cultural whims and talking points.
These people are midwits whose only real successes come from lying to people and giving each other worthless awards at cocktail parties that most of the country would never care to take part in.
As these people who've bestowed upon themselves the ultimate accolades seize total power, everything is falling apart all around us.
And the Prime Movers seem to have moved out of the way to allow them to do so, completely of their own Accord.
