I imagine if any parent had done what the Virginia dad whose daughter was raped did (cause a public scene to force them to listen), they would have been locked up immediately just like that dad.

If every time you see or hear someone talking about "threats to democracy," "the liberal order," or "the democratic process" you replace it with "the status quo of rampant, global corruption and authoritarianism," things will make much more sense.
