The Eastern region of Ukraine has been in open civil war with the Western half of the country run by the Kyiv regime since 2014. They refused to recognize the puppet government that was set up after their elected leader was ousted by the Western powers.

Those Eastern regions of Ukraine were then mercilessly set upon by Kyiv's forces - forces that included units of actual Nazis, that have been involved in illegal crimes against civilians.

And I won't even bring up the biolab threat that also existed, forced into Eastern Ukraine against the unwilling participation of the region's leaders.

Putin just said he wants Kyiv and the West to negotiate but is prepared to use nukes as the US did on Japan

Zelensky response: Ukraine is a de facto part of the NATO alliance and will apply for fasttrack accession to full NATO member today

Zelensky has announced Kyiv will hold no negotiations with Russia while Putin is President and that he is applying for full NATO membership today for Ukraine
