Noticing that Rich Higgins is back in the news. He should have never left the headlines. He foresaw all of this. I struck up a friendship from afar with him years ago. Mostly DMing on Twitter after I heard of his firing. I knew of him from years prior while I was at CENTCOM and the Pentagon. As a preface, remember Flynn was fired in Feb 2017. There were many, Rich among them, who were on the campaign and transition and later in the White House. When Flynn left, there were many on the team at the NSC that were there to work for Flynn NOT McMaster. Anyone who goes to work for one boss and another one comes in, especially in DC, has immediate questions of your locality and no place is that more true than in National Security when McMaster already knew his world view and Flynn’s clashed. There would be an immediate purity test conducted. Evidently, that purity test was done by snooping through emails of staffers. That is how the famous Higgins Memo was discovered. According to Rich, he didn’t even know why he was fired the day he was fired. He was called into McMasters office and fired. He was told he could resign and keep his clearance and if he didn’t he’d be fired and it would be permanently pulled which meant no work. He resigned but really was fired in a DC type way. For McMaster to reveal he knew about the memo would have revealed he’d been snooping in Rich’s email. It wasn’t until later that Rich found out that’s what happened. He didn’t go into how he found out. But anyone with systems access can figure that part out on government computers. Basically McMaster could see who the memo was emailed to and fired those he could. He also made life difficult for those he could touch personally. He didn’t know at first if the memo would ever get to the President but someone got it to Trump Jr who passed it to his dad, I was told. As many are figuring out, Rich was brilliant. More than brilliant, he was on the frontlines of this war when others refused to fight, couldn’t even see we were in a war, he became one of the first casualties and will forever be a personal hero to me. He was a selfless hero whose name will go down in America’s history books. @patelpatriot
