A few months into my time in Afghanistan, I read an intel assessment about local Taliban stoning women for learning how to read. In the mid-20th century, some places in Afghanistan were becoming very westernized and secular (different meaning to this word in the other hemisphere).

Within decades, the country turned into what it turned into, with warlords dictating the ins and outs of everyday life - women are property, minorities have no rights, and whoever has the biggest guns makes the rules.

Venezuela went to hell extremely quickly. As did Iran. There are many first world examples of utter chaos in the last century as well - France, Spain, Germany, Russia, Eastern Europe, to name a few.

My point is this - if you know people who don't want to dig in NOW, who don't want to open their mouths because their HR department may see, then they are ignorant of human history.

We still have some rights. We are disenfrancised in many areas, but not yet all. History tells you, when a political juggernaut comes to control all levers of power, it lines its enemies up in front of a ditch and shoots them into it.

I have been everywhere in the past 13 months. There are people all over the place who have been cancelled, sidetracked, marginalized, put on backburners, and they did so knowingly.

Want to make a difference at the county level? IF and WHEN you do, you will be highlighted by, and eventually pursued by the Press. The press runs blocking guard for the politicians. The commissioners and council members have the press on speed dial in a cesspool of corruption to doxx and harass people who accurately pin the tail on the donkey.

The good news? No one gives a rat's ass what the media says today, and a lot of that is because they cried wolf for four years of President Trump at a rate far surpassing any propaganda turned out from 2004-2016.

There is a place for journalism in this country. Unfortunately, just like with arts, entertainment, sport, and other discretionary pastimes, it has been infested and tainted with biased political propaganda and aggressive agendas.

For example, many citizen journalists have done outstanding work for many years, often on shoestring budgets or at their own expense entirely. I preface because what I'm going to say would be said with too broad of a brush had I not said it.

The Mainstream Media is utter trash. So WHEN you make a difference doing what it is you do, no one gives a hoot in hell.

I was a supporting character in the New York Times Magazine recently. I dreaded the release of the article - and it came out - and.... and.... and... no one cared. Now, I use these platforms to choke the glorified toilet paper rolls into either omitting me altogether, or publishing ready-made stats about electile dysfunction - their choice.

Sons of liberty threw a revolt in Boston Harbor over a tax on their breakfast drink of choice.

That is what freedom meant to people of that day - they had taken their lessons from what went wrong across the pond, dating back centuries.

History is not written by the ball-less, chameleons who seek to blend in at the office, cookout, or wherever else.

It took DECADES and DECADES to bring the country to this low point. Many seem to think it should take 2 weeks to unstuck it.

Newsflash: FEW were activists before 11/3/2020 - yes, there were some, and they are truly to be acknowledged. It took the injustice of that "election" to activate many more people - just as it took 74 MILLION votes getting bypassed to alert people to something that has been going on most certainly, at least in select states, for decades.

People can be horrifically ugly and terrible - the choice is yours if you want to move ahead on that mission path. You may not be the one to enjoy the fruits of your labor, but I guarantee you as surely as the sun is about to rise that the coming generations will be FREE generations.

It is better to burn out than to fade away.
