Three Russian students have been expelled from their university after a video of them twerking in front of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour prompted Orthodox activists to demand their expulsion.

An Orthodox activist group urged its followers to denounce them for "insulting the feelings of believers" and write letters to the Investigative Committee, asking for a criminal case to be opened against them.

In the end, the young women faced administrative charges for petty hooliganism.
