A man from Khan Yunis, displaced and tired, engages in a tense phone call with Israeli occupation forces who demand evacuation. He pleads for the safety of his family, questioning if raising white flags will prevent them from being shot. Despite assurances, he expresses deep fear saying they're witnessing children's bodies on the streets. The forces command him to spread the evacuation order to surrounding areas, warning of intensified attacks. As the call ends, another strike hits near them hits.

Recently, there has been a disturbing increase in violence against Palestinians in al Khalil/ Hebron, particularly targeting shopkeepers displaying Palestinian flags, symbols, and related items.
In recent months, the CPT team has documented numerous attacks on shopkeepers for selling products featuring Palestinian symbols such as the Palestinian map, flag, Kufieh, and other items associated with Palestinian identity.
One such incident involves Wael Farrah, a shopkeeper on Al-Shalaleh Street in Al-Khalil/Hebron, who was assaulted and suffered fractures to his chest.
Israeli soldiers not only prohibit the display of these items but also vandalize and destroy the merchandise. They intimidate and threaten individuals, warning them against future displays, citing vague laws whose origin and enforcement are unclear. Is this a lawful approach to dealing with Palestinians?
The Israeli occupation appears to not only flout international and humanitarian laws but also to fabricate laws and enforce them through aggressive and violent means.
Is this an appropriate response, and do Palestinians have the right to challenge it?

Dina Ramadan Okasha, 24, is the manager of Masaq Educational Center and the Deir Al Balah education tent. As an English teacher living in displacement, she started an initiative to support children in the camp who have faced a significant gap in their education due to the ongoing conflict. The children, traumatized and desperate to learn, are given an opportunity to continue their studies and find some normalcy through educational activities, helping to alleviate their emotional pain and providing a sense of stability amidst the chaos.
