🗯️ LESS or FEWER

Less мы используем с неисчисляемыми существительными (things you can’t count, like water, milk, money, or time).
*Because less is used with nouns you cannot count, it will always be followed by a singular noun.
Examples:
• I have less money now.
• Robert has less patience than his brother.

Fewer используется с исчисляемыми существительными (things you can count, like apples, books, or friends).
*Fewer is always followed by a plural noun.
Examples:
• Fewer than ten guests turned up for the party.
• There are fewer apples on this tree than on that one.

CASH AND POCKET MONEY 💰💸
Ponder the following questions, please.
🗨️ 1. Do you think giving pocket money to children is important? Why or why not?
💡I think giving pocket money to children is important because they start to appreciate the value of money. It teaches them to manage a personal budget wisely and
make good financial decisions
Pocket money helps children develop budgeting skills. Children have to learn to make choices such as whether to save money for a bigger purchase or to spend it on something small.

🗨️ 2. How much pocket money should children be given?
💡Children should be given a small allowance of pocket money so that they may learn to handle money responsibly.
When children have their own money, they can make their own choices about what they want to buy or save for.

🗨️ 3. What responsibilities do you think children should have in exchange for receiving pocket money?
💡I think children should run е́rrands for parents /ˈerənd/ in exchange for receiving pocket money. (выполнять поручения родителей)
For example, they can tidy their room, do the washing-up or take up the rubbish.

🗨️ 4. Did you receive pocket money when you were a child? If yes, how much?
💡When I was younger, I remember receiving approximately one thousand rubles as my pocket money allowance. I would choose to spend it on things like sweets or toys.

🗨️ 5. If you have children, do you give them pocket money? If not, will you in the future?
💡If I had children, I would definitely give them pocket money so that they could learn to plan ahead for upcoming expenses and save for larger purchases.
Pocket money can be used as a tool to teach children about the value of money. Parents can use it as an opportunity to discuss the difference between needs and wants, and how to prioritize spending.
