معدل التفاعلات هو مُعدل يدل على سرعة عملية تحول المتفاعلات إلى نواتج.
Types of Rates:

• initial ratee:
يقيس معدلات التفاعل في بداية التفاعل.
• instantaneous rates:
يقيس معدل التفاعل في أي نقطة من التفاعل
• avarage rates:
An overall masrured over a period or time interval.

- the negative sign shows that the constration decreases.
- the positive sign shows that the constration increasea.

Units of Rates:
[ k= M^(1–n) t–¹ ]

t= time
M= mole/litere

التفاعلات الكيميائية تحدث بظروف زمنية مختلفة اعتمادًا على مجموعة من العوامل، بعض التفاعلات الكيميائيّة تكاد تحدث فوريًا وبعضها تاخذ وقت طويل ممكن يوصل لأشهر
وهاي مهمة معدّل التفاعل إنه يعرف معدل مقارب للوقت الزمني اللي راح تستغرقه المتفاعلات لتحولها لنواتج، وهاي هي العوامل المؤثرة بالعملية:

• presnse of catalyst
• Surface area of reactants
• Exposure to radiation

2. Process material and heat balances.
3. Auxiliary services material and heat balances
4. Chemical engineering performance design for specific items of equipment required for a flowsheet.
5. Instrumentation is related to process preference.
6. Preparation of specifications.
7. Evaluation of bids and recommendations of qualified.

Design Development Stages:

- the design objectives (the need).
- setting the design basis (data collection).
- generation of possible concepts (solutions).
- build preference model and fitness testing.
- economic evaluation, optimization, and selection.
- detailed design and equipment selection.
- procurement, construction, and operation.

Design constraints
A. Internal constraints: over wich designer has some control.
B. External constraints: fixed, invariable.

Flow-sheet Importance:
- shows the arrangement of quipment selected to carry out process.
- shows the streams concentrations, flow rates& compositions.
- shows the operating conditions.
- during plant start up and subsequent operation.
