I still struggle with finding my way around what is important to me and i notice a lot is a strong inside voice of me saying "I don't want to be here" or "Everything must change"
Ill never deny the dark world we live in but i will try and focus on lifting the spirits up from now on too (even though most my songs are about heartaches)

Here's a demo/concept version of me trying a new songwriting style (speedrunning a song in an hour)
Forgive me for sounding absolutely asleep on the mic. My surroundings are LOUD today and i have no time for a retake

Why not just keep it to myself? because then ill forget about it and its got potential so take it like a good boy/girl/thing

Oh and i will probably make reviews like 2 to 4 times a month for the (in my opinion) best album of the week if i rate it an 8 or higher
Review 2: The Flowers I See You In by Ninush

Genre: Chamber Pop. Singer Songwriter

This EP is flying quite under the radar for how BIG this is for the indie pop scene. Ninush is making her first appearence in music here but is not new to it at all as she has graduated at the London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In her time there she has made the connections necceserry to be the first musical project published under The Bird Records. This is a new label created by the drummer from Black Country New Road - Charlie Wayne.

This ep shows me so much potential for the chamber pop artsy scene. I must be slightly biased as the newest BCNR record has been one of my most replayed. If this is only the begining i can not wait to see what comes next from the label and from Ninush

The songwriting feels like a perfect hand in hand of hopefull and defeating where its just a melancholy deep breath with clever lyricism. Most of these tracks have a cute catchy melody to it or sound so grand it reminds me of a fantastical dark-ride's climax.

Honestly with the length that this project sits out its a waste of time to NOT check it out. I cant wait to see what comes next from this

Slightly inactive because I got sick right before NFC and had a loooot of busy days and am STILL quite back and forth. BUT HUGE UPDATE: I now own a piano! This is a dream come true and I'm blessed to have the chance to do anything on this.

I've never played piano before so I'll definitely need to take my time to learn on this but that will have to come after all the NFC shizzle

Back to songwriting today!! With some new gear and a vanilla ice coffee

Review 3: The Mountains by Gorillaz

I can only talk about how fun this album is if i talk about how lackluster their post hiatus work has been.
After releasing The Fall there has been a 7 year gap before the next album released from Damon Albarn called Humanz. I grew my music taste with large part of this album but looking back on it, all the charm that made Gorillaz unique was lost. The political perspective on Humanz was something to roll your eyes at as well, while with Plastic Beach for example, it was a very creative input. This trend of lackluster content continued until Song Machine, where instead of a conceptual experience, Damon instead just made fun songs with very creative feature playing. A diamond in the rough it seemed as the next album, Cracker Island, might just be Gorillaz' worst, due to the lack of any vision at all and no real good tracks (this is all my opinion remember?)

SO, now we are here at The Mountain.
The album starts off with a beautiful acoustic intro that leads you towards the world of the plast- The Mountain.
After this comes a straight blast into some of the strongest tracks in the album. The first 2 sides of this album are honestly just flawless and continues fun tracks. Happy Dictator especially shows the direction of this album in a clear light. A leader is not someone to fix you or make you better, and can only do this much for you. The oppressor in this song is trying to keep people happy by propaganda and banning bad news, while thinking they are the shit. They in fact are not the shit.

Incredible highlights like The Manifesto with a swingy vocal beat and synths that dance over the beat that cant help but make you swing with them. And i cant talk about this track without pressing on how AMAZING Trueno sounds on this track. The beat-switch into the nostalgic and dread filled verse with Proof almost makes you think you turned wrong somewhere and ended up on the wrong album all the while still somehow ending up with a fiery ending of Trueno once again.
By the way. almost half the songs go like this in some way. You are in the vibe of the album and suddenly get swung into a whole new direction and faced with amazing rhymes. This wont be for everyone but let me say: I'm so glad it's not formulaic anymore. Damon and his features TRULY shine out now, just like in Song Machine

My biggest issue with the album is funnily enough the same as i have for plastic beach, which id mot closely relate this album to. The ending is quite slow. Now i frankly mind it less on this album then on plastic beach which is interesting to me as that is my favourite of Damon, but the theme and world of The Mountain just feels so much more real than any other he has yet made, and therefor it feels more like I'm still in a world somewhere instead of being pulled out of it completely. Though at Casablanca and The Sweet Prince i do have to do my best to stay enthusiastic, the ending track The Sad God is an great way to close the album off and leaves me satisfied

All in all, this is the strongest post hiatus album and I'm glad Gorillaz is weird again

Random thought: I kinda wanna keep the reviews "short" but imma be real they still feel quite long. Do y'all still like them or should I shorten it down? I'll later most likely be switching over to an external platform for them but I just can't be bothered yet
Sorry for the silence! I've been crunching a lottttt since I wanna meet some deadlines for myself. Beside that I'm working with q new system for myself where I change instrument focus weekly, while still writing and finishing songs on the side. Half my music time will be exploring new instruments and theory and the rest is still writing.

This week I'm picking up Violin! Ive found an excuse to give it a try. Today I learned the basics of tuning and properly playing and posture tecnique and tomorrow I'll be learning hand placement on the fretboard and playing my first scale

I disgarded my first complete song today!

I see this as a good thing as this means im setting my bar higher and continuing to work on my standards.
The song was a weak and had no meaning. it was just yapping about sad emotions. TRASH!

But every discarded idea is also able to get a new life if reimagined. I have a few ideas left and then i have a nice little list of songs around the same topic. Wonder what ill do with those

Alright the violin week is over and it was a pain in my ass

ANYWAY this week were doing the same but with sax! but im starting on wednesday as for the upcoming 2 days i will be finishing up a bigger song and having a very exciting day tomorrow which ive been waiting ages for. Ill most likely commit to sax for the rest of the month at least aswell as exploring some new ideas to see how advanced my style is now and see where my weak points lay. This probably means a lot of lead and soloing to catch it up to my rythm skills

U by Underscores
When I'm with you it feels like-

Finally we get the new arc for April Harper Grey aka Underscores and it's quite worth the wait, although not what I personally expected. Coming out of Wall socket she was super delicate and direct, a precise procedure of an album. U is basically her Revengezeekers, where April is as expirimental as she can be with her production and is really having a lot of fun and you can hear it at every track. This album feels the most personal of all of her projects so far even if it's very much from the high stand she has obtained over the years from being an underground hyperpop legend. Far from perfect, but so much fun.

My New Band Believe's Self Titled
You fucking faggots ain't seen the last of me yet! - C.Picton ala 2022

If "Black Midi" rings a bell to you then you already know why this album is here. From the depths of hell(fire) we have seen the return of a second member of the band to the former band. In 2024 it was Georgie Greep who took the internet by storm with The New Sound and now its up to Cameron Picton as MNBB. After the breakup of Black Midi he toured with Black Country New Road and you can hear the influences. The trademark wild mathy/progressive sound can be heard in this album still even though its way more focused on acoustics. My personal favourite Black Midi song being Eat Men Eat it is awesome to hear that this bite sized album gives me exactly what that itched for me. I wasn't prepared for this release but as soon as i recognised the vocalist i knew this was going to be good.

I've been gone from this channel for a bit. My ambitions got a bit too high but I'm happy to announce that there's something big on the horizon for me.

My first single "Mayfly". Coming soon :3

That took longer than expected.
I'm glad I forced myself to push something out, because I get too comfortable at times. Thanks to anyone who cares about this. Because I'll keep doing it whether you like it or not
