The race for Generative AI is on a steroid!
Meta has revealed plans to integrate generative AI text, image, and video generators into its core applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp.
Facebook's parent firm has been at the forefront of generative AI research, but has been hesitant and slow to launch its AI products to users.
The generative AI tools will let users to utilize a text prompt to change their own photographs and publish them on Instagram, while AI agents with varying personalities and skills will assist and entertain users in Messenger and WhatsApp.
While Meta has been hesitant and cautious in incorporating generative AI technologies into its products, others have gone right in. Microsoft, for example, is incorporating AI-powered copilots into all of their core products including Office Suites, Windows, and Bing. Snapchat, a more direct competitor to Meta, has debuted its Snap AI chatbot, while companies including Google, Adobe, Salesforce have introduced various features that integrate generative AI into their core products. Amazon also recently announced its getting into the generative AI race by developing two new AI language models available through its cloud platform, Amazon Web Services, which customers will be able to use to build their own bots.
