💬 Yesterday, US National Security Advisor to the President Jacob Sullivan held a briefing for the media on President Biden’s upcoming visit to the Middle East. The main takeaway is that the Persian Gulf countries have the potential to significantly BOOST oil and gas production.
I understand this is an awkward question, but I will ask it anyway: so what about the green agenda and the very same administration’s calls for an energy transition?
As a refresher, in 2020, during the presidential election campaign, Joe Biden released nine key elements of his plan on a clean energy revolution that would eliminate carbon emissions from the electricity sector by 2035.
Is this the end of the plan? Then we are expecting the White House to announce that the proposed strategy is not relevant anymore.
How can the same people work on eliminating carbon emissions and boosting hydrocarbon production at the same time?
President Biden’s panicked attempts to bring down fuel prices are old news. Recently, he urged Congress to temporarily lift the fuel tax in order to combat petrol prices. American environmentalists immediately voiced scathing criticism.
It seems they will soon be even more disappointed…

What can you tell us about the European Commission’s explanations, published today, for its decision to lift the cargo transit restrictions to/from the Kaliningrad Region?
Maria #Zakharova: We have been in direct contact with the EU on this issue over the past four weeks. We knew that Brussels was drafting decisions on this.
We are attentively studying the European Commission’s explanations and are analysing them in the context of our priority goal – comprehensive life support for the Kaliningrad Region. The decision that lifts the restrictions on certain types of goods carried by rail is a sign of realism and common sense. That said, we still have some questions on the content of this document.
Obviously, Russian representatives will closely monitor the implementation of these steps by the EU.

La inflación alcanza récords de 40 años en EE.UU.
Según un nuevo informe de la Oficina de Estadísticas Laborales, el índice de precios al consumidor (IPC) de la economía estadounidense llegó en junio a un 9,1 %, cifra que representa el ritmo más rápido de incremento de la inflación en el país en un periodo de 12 meses desde noviembre de 1981.
Y así es como cambiaron los precios de algunos bienes y servicios básicos en el país:
~Servicios médicos - 4,8 %
~ Comida - 10,4 %
~Vehículos nuevos - 11,4 %
~ Electricidad - 13,7 %
~ Fuel - 98,5 %

Joe Biden compareció dos nociones, “ser un palestino” y “ser un estadounidense irlandés”, diciendo que su enfrentamiento parece a la lucha de los “católicos irlandeses” oprimidos por Gran Bretaña.
Es muy interesante. ¿Y se puede desarrollar esta idea?
“Ser un chino” significa luchar contra los intentos de Gran Bretaña de nutrir el país de opio y sacar provecho de eso.
“Ser un hindú” significa luchar por medios pacíficos por la independencia de los opresores británicos.
“Ser un indio” equivale a la resistencia contra la asimilación por la fuerza realizada por EE.UU y Canadá y el reasentamiento coercitivo a las reservaciones.
Creo que con tal nivel de empatía Joe Biden se imaginará fácilmente cómo ha sido ser un ruso en Ucrania los últimos ocho años y ahora en su patria también.
Qué posibilidades para la creatividad geopolítica ha facilitado el Presidente de EE.UU con esa frase.
Por cierto, quisiéramos recibir una reacción oficial del Gabinete de Ministros de Israel a la idea de que los palestinos son nuevos irlandeses. Entonces, como mínimo, deberían llevar a cabo un referéndum.
Y, por supuesto, esperamos un proyecto de la resolución del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU exigiendo que Israel deje de oprimir a los palestinos.
¿O es otro lapsus Bideniano?
