NY PM Session Recap | Nasdaq 🟢 +0.45%
Yesterday's New York session ended positive, but it also highlighted an important lesson in trade management.
🔹 Trade #1: -0.30%
My mistake. I chased the entry and got in too late. By the time I entered, the original setup should already have been at breakeven, so the risk/reward was no longer in my favour.
🔹 Trade #2: +0.75%
Execution was much cleaner.
Entry came on the M1 Breaker retest after:
H1 liquidity sweep below the daily swing low
Fill into the H1 FVG
M1 acceptance and Breaker confirmation
I decided to take profits at the first Trendline Liquidity (TP1) because, in just a few minutes, the trade had already recovered the first loss and put the day back into profit.
📊 Daily Result: +0.45%
Looking back, the optimal management would have been:
✅ TP1 → Partial close
✅ TP2 → Second partial
✅ TP3 → Final exit
The setup actually reached all three targets.

📈 NQ PM Session (Pre-FOMC) – Long Execution
Today's trade was executed during the NY PM session, ahead of the FOMC announcement.
Market Context:
Higher timeframe bias remained bearish on H1.
Price first swept the H1 Swing Low liquidity, taking out sell-side liquidity below the lows.
Following the liquidity grab, I looked for a short-term long, while keeping the overall bearish bias unchanged.
Execution:
✅ Long entry on the M1 Breaker retest after confirmation.
✅ 2 NQ Mini contracts
✅ Stop Loss: 53 points
✅ Take Profit: 77 points
✅ Total risk: 0.40%
✅ Target: +0.55%
The take-profit was placed at the 50% level of the H1 Fair Value Gap, just before the first significant resistance area.
The entire trade lasted around 10 minutes, allowing me to secure profits well before the increased volatility expected around the FOMC release.

📈 GBPJPY – NY Session Long Position
This position was opened during the New York session after a high-conviction bullish setup aligned across multiple timeframes.
Market Context:
Price reached a Daily Demand zone.H1 printed a bullish Break of Structure (BOS), confirming the shift in momentum. The combination of higher timeframe demand and H1 confirmation provided the framework for the long entry.
Execution:
✅ Long entry during the NY open.
✅ Initial Risk-to-Reward: 1:2.5.
The position reacted exactly as anticipated, delivering a strong impulsive move both before and after the FOMC announcement.
Thanks to the strength of the move, I was able to move my stop loss to Break Even, turning the position into a risk-free trade while leaving the full upside potential open.

📊 Daily Recap
Futures (NQ)
Today I didn't execute any trades. During the NY session I was waiting for a liquidity sweep to look for a short opportunity, but the move came too close to the market close, so I decided to stay flat.
Forex (GBPJPY)
My GBPJPY position was closed at break-even. After a strong bullish push, volatility on the JPY picked up ahead of tomorrow's BoJ meeting and price came back to my entry after I had already moved my stop to BE.
Days like this remind me why risk management is everything. Without protecting the position, today's trade would have turned into a full loss. Preserving capital is just as important as making profits.

GBPJPY – Weekly Outlook 📊
The BoJ created plenty of volatility, but my overall view hasn't changed.
✅ 74% of retail traders are short (contrarian signal)
✅ COT still supports relative GBP strength over JPY
✅ Weekly market structure remains bullish
I'm closely watching the 214.30–215.80 demand zone. If price gives me confirmation according to my trading model, I'll be looking for fresh long opportunities.
🎯 Main target: a move back toward the highs, with potential continuation into the 219.50–220.00 area.

📈 Topstep | Weekly & Monthly Recap
This was my best week since starting the Topstep challenge.
I executed two trades this week, on Monday and Wednesday, both during the New York PM session.
Looking back, Monday's trade had room for a much larger profit, but I'm still gaining experience with my new M1 execution model. Every trade is helping me refine the process.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with the progress.
The account is now only -0.45% from breakeven, making the objectives for August very clear:
• Return to breakeven.
• Build consistency.
• Push toward the +6% (+$3,000) profit target to complete the Trading Combine.
