4 Major College Application Deadlines to Keep in Mind β°
With the new application season for U.S. colleges right around the corner, we want to give you a quick rundown of the main application options and their benefits. Choosing the right application type depends on your individual situation and preferences.
π‘ Hereβs a breakdown to help you understand the different options:
π΅ Regular Decision (RD) β The standard application process, with deadlines usually between December 15th and January 15th. This option gives you the most time to prepare your application.
π΅ Early Decision (ED) β An early application option with deadlines from November 1st to 15th. If you get accepted and the financial aid package is satisfactory, you must attend that university and withdraw all other applications. This option is binding, which means you are committed to attending if accepted.
π΅ Early Action (EA) β Another early application option, also with deadlines from November 1st to 15th. Unlike ED, this option is non-binding. If youβre accepted, you have until May 1st to make your decision, giving you more time to consider other offers.
π΅ Rolling Admissions (RA) β A flexible option where applications are accepted throughout the year. Some universities respond within two weeks, while others review applications at specific times during the academic year. This option allows you to apply at any time, but applying early can increase your chances of acceptance.
