People have said unexpectedly kind things about my Stiftung Corona Ausschuss appearance yesterday. I’d appreciate feedback in this poll as to what made it valued.

Your comments on the role of the Church of England in today's UK are way off reality, it seems to me. Simply because the regular assistance to any local CoE every Sunday is insignificant, with regard to the overall population. According to Wikipedia there are 26 million baptized members. How many of those are active, convinced members? A fraction of those. What influence can such church have upon society, or upon the political power?

A subscriber has asked why I describe the religious establishment—the Church of England and Church of Scotland—as part of the Body, Mind and Soul triad that steers the course of the nation, together with the NHS and BBC, despite the now tiny active membership of those established churches.

Matthew 23:13b— “Ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer [=permit] ye them that are entering to go in.”

By occupying the space that churches overseen by actual Christians would otherwise occupy, the hierarchies of the C of E and the Kirk achieve the following:

- Trivialise the Gospel
- Succour the Satanic agenda of depopulation
- Bless perversity (secular term: ‘normalise’)
- Freeze out any Christian public figure who “goes too far”
- Co-opt young, eager, promising believers and send them on a hiding to nothing

Much diminished though they may be as real-world denominations, the established churches either largely or exclusively control the chaplaincies of the significant schools, universities, hospitals and armed forces. In that capacity, they can be used as vessels to impress upon the rising generation of national leaders, “God smiles upon globalism; evangelism is suspect, if not supremacist.”

They are, in short, a deadweight that has become a stumblingblock.

Thomas Hobbes foresaw and welcomed this in Chapter 30 of Leviathan:

“[…] the greatest part of Man-kind […] receive the Notions of their duty, chiefly from Divines in the Pulpit, and partly from such of their Neighbours, or familiar acquaintance, as having the Faculty of discoursing readily, and plausibly, seem wiser and better learned in cases of Law, and Conscience, than themselves. And the Divines, and such others as make shew of Learning, derive their knowledge from the Universities, and from the Schooles of Law, or from the Books, which by men eminent in those Schooles, and Universities have been published. It is therefore manifest, that the Instruction of the people dependeth wholly on the right teaching of Youth in the Universities.”
