Fight the latest attempts to decriminalise abortion to birth:

A major amendment has been added to the Crime and Policing Bill that would fully decriminalise abortion — even very late in pregnancy — and potentially end investigations into abuse, coercion, and forced abortion.
This is not just a legal tweak.
It removes moral boundaries around the deliberate taking of human life and weakens safeguarding for vulnerable women, especially in the context of pills being sent by post with minimal oversight.
Without investigation, cases of domestic abuse, pressure, trafficking, or non-consensual abortions risk being hidden rather than helped.
This is the biggest change to abortion law since 1967 — introduced with no public consultation and minimal debate.
I’ve written to the House of Lords urging opposition and stronger safeguards.

The FBI insisting on CALEA, GCHQ pursuing the Snooper’s Charter, Five Eyes countries pressuring technology companies on end-to-end encryption: all of it premised on the assumption that access mechanisms intended for law enforcement will not be exploited by adversaries.

The assumption was always suspect on theoretical grounds. Cryptographers warned that backdoors are vulnerabilities, that the mathematics of security does not distinguish between authorized and unauthorized access, that if the mechanism exists someone will find it. The warnings were dismissed as academic, impractical, detached from the operational realities of law enforcement and national security.”

If I’d been alone, watching this, I would probably have broken down in tears again. I thought I was over the anger and grief about the cruelty, suffering, stupidity, cravenness of it all. But clearly I’m not. It’s probably a good thing. I don’t want to have my response to suffering cauterised. We’ve visitors, so I plod on.

I pray we are able to turn this around, dear friends.

Pray for the souls of those injured and killed, and for those who did nothing, despite doubts.
